alright, here is my personal way of doing it, if your not using screens, you take your nug and break off a tiny bit, bigger than the hole, but only slightly, then you start grinding your weed, after breaking it up by hand, or grinder, i use a grinder, you are left with an assortment of different sized peices and flakes/leaves. i typically will heap it into a pile, stirring a few times, this helps the big pieces to the top, and the shake to the bottom, i then pack the bowl using the pile, piling it from big pieces to little bits of shake, and if its on a surface, ill slide the shake to the top of the bowl, or if its in my grinder ill tip the grider out gently. I will then get a non-stick surface, like the end of a pen, or the cap to eyedrops and softly pack the bowl down, i dont give it a lot of force, but more of a gentle pressure to make sure the weed has settled evenly. then i light, gingerly, most of the time the kieffy bit is just trichs so you dont want to burn them.
