Most keep mothers in soil. Very good to clone from for any medium.
We can help and you already have a jump on things. We need to know the size of your room and light.
Have you thought about what type of hydro system you want ?
Have you looked around or talk to growers ?
Latewood's legacy mix is what is working very well for us. That's General Hydroponics 3 part with cal-mag plus added.
Other than that. Come on in boy's the water is fine.

You should be able to use all of those but start simple. Distilled or R/O water or very good tap or well water. Calmag to bring ppm to 250 and then veg or bloom nutes. Once everything is going alright then add the extras. If you add them all to start and something goes wrong you won't know what it is.
Nice size room and love the big light. You should be good to go.
