My 1st grow. A few Q's

Hello! I'm new to the site and new to growing so ive got a few questions, I've got 6 AK47 seeds that ive put in Rockwool cubes to germinate. I soaked the cubes in water for a few hours, the squeezed them a tiny bit to get rid of the excess water and put them in a propagator in a dark room at 80-90f.
Ive just checked them this morning about 65 hours after i put them in and there are tiny roots sticking out the bottom of 3 fo them but nothing from the other 3 and no sign of anythin coming out of the top of anything.
Is this all normal in regards to the time its taking and the temperatures?
Should i put them into any light yet?
Im gonna start a grow log as soon as they are ready to put into my hydro garden.

You have to make a certain amount of posts before you can, not sure on the number but for some reason I remembering 50. Until then, you can make a photobucket account and post them that way.

Yeah they have all showed up now after having about 24 hours of light, they are looking like they are stretching a little bit tho, does this mean they are'nt getting enough light and i should move it closer and maybe get some cfls in there?

What kind of light are you using?

Keep the light(s) as close as possible without burning them. Just lower the lights gradually over the next day or two. I keep my seedlings less than 1 inch from a 20w CFL (one bulb for each seedling).

You should also get some kind of fan in there to make them sway a little (not too much!) and that'll help to really strengthen up the stems.

Ive got a 600w hps. Yeah ill get a fan in there right away! thanks

In that case keep your light around 12-18" from the tops of the plants.

Get that fan in there ASAP, you have to have good circulation, especially with a 600W system! :rasta:

You wouldn't happen to have a digital ballast, would you? If you could switch to Metal Halide it would be better for vegging.
