How do you store/clean your ph pen?
Ive noticed some small stuff stuck up in my pen so I need a good safe way to clean it. I was reading some things and am now curious about how everyone stores their pens. I need to find a good way.

if you ever let the sensor tip dry out, it's ruined, at least with most brands ... I leave mine sitting in tapwater, when not using  ... I called the Milwaukee pH pen company, they said not to leave it in either distilled water, or reverse-osmosis water (as I had been doing :wtf: ), but plain tapwater is best ... he also said, do not store tip in calibration fluid, either ... I understand little of this, only relaying the Milwaukee manufacturer's instructions ... good luck :smokin:

I have a bottle of Milwaukee storage solution but it came with zero instructions. Think I could let it sit in that?
If thats the case I will probably have to order a new one because I usually just wipe the outside and leave the tip wet then just put the cap back on until the next day. Probably not good... I ordered some cleaning solution and more calibration stuff... I have been having some issues correcting my PH and I am seeing some curling leaves so made me wonder about the pen. Thanks for the info!.

nah your fine. I would get a small cup that you can use to rest your tool into. Fill it part way with your storage solution and you will be just fine. Every time your done using it, shake it off with a light flick and drop the tool into your cup. All done.

I use mine so much it grows algea sometimes cause I don't always rinse it off.
Use a tooth brush or a qtip to clean and be careful not to dunk it in the water if it is not waterproof.
Like said, don't let it dry out. Store in tap water or storage solution both just as good. I always keep the cap half full of tap water when not in the storage solution.
Now I always keep a few new ones because my bro's can screw them up faster than I can order them. If they screw up much more I'm going to start a hydro shop.

My hydro dealer told me to clean with Hydrogen Peroxide. Store in water. I bought the Milwaukee probe that always stays in the resevoir -I love it.:hippy:
