I have learned what I could of the events in Israel from the end of WWII until now. I can't believe America, Europe or anyone in the civilized world should tell the Israelis to stop their military reprisals on the terrorists. It is clear who is helping Israel but who is arming Hamas and the other anti Israeli groups. There are no inoccents on either side of the equation. Mistakes and atrocites have been commited by both sides.

If a bunch of nationalistic Mexican citizens decided that Texas really belongs to Mexico and decided to take it back how far do you think they would get? What if they decided they were too chicken to form an army and confront their enemy directly and decided to use terrorist tacticts against soft targets in the US to make their point. What do you think the United States response would be if a group of Mexican nationalist rebels came up to Texas and and performed some terrorist acts. We both know it would be anniahlation.

So why should the Israelis who have had to live under constant military and terrorist threat since the end of WWII be forced not to thoroughly defend themselves.
To place your history in the correct beginning, Palestinians and the indigenous Jews who never left their homeland (assimilated by the Moslims who conquered the region long before WWI), co-existed mostly peaceably until the fall of the Ottoman empire and the meddling of the British in their dividing of the region after WWI. Still it was the British who created the state/nation of Palestine, and it was their insistence that the European Jews who were the survivors of the Nazi Death Camps were refused entry into Europe, the UK and the good 'ol US of A. (read Exodus by Leon Uris, a good historical novel of the time but slightly biased or watch the movie). To find a place for them, the British again carved up Palestine and created the state of Israel. These imported European Jews then fought both the British and the Palestinians, and the British left the region. Ever since, it has been the Muslims, aka Arab States against the Jews and the present day Zionists. Funny but its Semitic people against Semitic people each believing a different religion. Time they learned to get along again.
