My current plan for harvest is to take the buds at 3 different times. I don't really care much about weight right now since it's my first grow. I know a lot of people like to take the whole harvest at once, dry it together, and then weigh. I'm more interested in seeing if an early picked bud gives me a different high than a later picked one.

Compared to a lot of peoples' final pics, your leaves are still quite green and healthy looking. It's your grow, do whatcha feel like!

I cut off one of the side branches with a decent size lower bud and a few popcorn buds last night. I quick dried the popcorn in the oven and tried it, I did get a hit, nothing amazing, but I got a hit. The large bud is slow drying and hopefully it will be ready to smoke on harvest day. :jointsmile:




I have decided to harvest in 3 days time. A few people seem to think this "Shock Ripening" featured in High Times does improve the buds. The lights are now turned off and I won't be giving my plants any water or light till harvest (I have been giving them refridgerated water for the last 3 days).

I harvested 1 bud and "Stress Ripened" this crop (3 days in dark with no water). The bud I harvested before SR wasn't as strong as the rest of the crop and the crops odour/taste got much stronger during SR. I am definitely going to SR on my next crop.

My goal for this 1st grow was 2oz a plant, I can't be 100% precise (because I quick cured some of the bud for an immediate smoke) about how much I produced, but it was around 135g`s once dry and definitely over 4oz in total. As far as quality goes, it's good. I knew the strain I was growing wasn't amazing, but it tastes ok and has a really decent hit. I think I got a good size crop, considering I just let them do their own thing and didn't trim, fimm, scrog, lst or anything. I have already got a bit more adventurous with my 2nd grow and have had a go at Fimming, which has worked on one of the plants.

Anyway... I would like to say "Thankyou" to everyone who posts on this forum, you have been a great help and I have smoked many a joint in your honour.

Gotta hand some congrats to ya, those ladies look like they turned out just fiiiiine! It's also good to see someone else who is a little behind on their logging

As to 'techniques', you /gotta/ try LST... I personally think it's the least-stressful of the training methods, and getting multiple colas per plant is NOT a Bad Thingâ?¢.
