RIPAC suggests that patients compensate their caregivers no more than $150/ounce. I'm currently asking $5/gram ($140/oz). This is incredibly cheap compared to other states and around 1/2 to 1/4 current market price.

RIPAC can make suggestions but it is not the law. Caregivers can ask for whatever patients will pay. The law does not preclude one from asking to be compensated for time spent growing, at least not how I have read it.

I would hope patients would want their caregivers to be compensated fairly. There is a lot of work, knowledge and dedication that goes into producing this medicine, especially if done well. Not to mention the cost of equipment and the risk you run by keeping highly valuable plants in your house.

I'm also curious what other caregivers are asking for compensation. I'm sure many of us would rather keep this info private but please do share. That way we can have a better idea of a fair market based medicine price, not just an arbitrary figure tossed out by RIPAC. :hippy:
