I am willing to bet the problem IS the aqua globe. aqua globes saturate the soil with water , allowing NO AIR to get to the roots. It would not surprise if you gave your plant root rot but letting it sit in water saturated soil. To check, take the aqua globe out, wait a few hours to a day to let the soil dry out just a little bit. grab the plant by the base of the stem and lift it out of the pot about halfway. look at the roots. they should nice and white and stringy. Im willing to bet yours are not.

Weed needs to have a watering cycle to allow oxygen to get to the roots, otherwise you can cause all kinds of problems. I don't know anything about fixing root rot, unfortunately. I believe there is some sort of formula you can buy to help. transplanting may be a good idea as well.

Just to be thorough, how are you feeding your plant? if you are putting a nute solution in it, this is no good. you should feed every other watering- another reason it needs a watering cycle.

Check out your roots, and post your findings. Im fairly certain this is your problem.
