    Finn'SCRog - Trainwreck & Mystery Sativa

I must admit I am curious about TW, a lot of people on these forums seem to grow it, but I don't think I have ever smoked any. I am considering buying some seeds for my next grow, obviously it's potent, but what does TW taste like?

I would hesitate to buy it again, or any other feminized seeds for that matter. There seems to be a lot of problems with hermies, although I haven't had that problem yet (knocks on wood).

The taste, well, it's nothing to brag about. Might have been my curing techniques (or lack thereof), but it had a sweet and pungent aroma and smoke also. I wouldn't call it smooth , because it gave you that little tingle in your throat, which I always attribute to high thc content (or weed that gives me a strong effect). It's not the biggest yielder either, but it is definitely potent. In Amsterdam I tried Greenhouse's TW at their coffeeshop, it had pretty much the same flavor but wasn't as potent IMO.

If you have the possibility to clone and maintain mothers, I think it's more than possible to buy a 5 or 10 pack of TW feminized and find a keeper for a mother plant. That's really the best way to go. Either that, or find the 'real' Arcata TW in clone. But it seems like that's been passed around so much and everyone claims to have the 'real' one, while results do vary. :wtf:

If you are familiar to bag seed bud and rarely try the top shelf strains, TW will couch lock your ass

    Give it a go.......

TW is still in veg for another week. Put the screen on top to promote lateral growth.

noticed that you don't anchor that screen down too much........is it not necessary?......just open up the plant as much as possible and let the screen rise with the plant growth??

thanks for all the advice Finn...funny to hear you say that your home grown is stronger than the amsterdam coffee shop:thumbsup:

Not for me then, given a choice I like fruity/tasty weed, not just strength. I have been offered some White Rhino cuttings, a friend is growing from them now, so depending on how he gets on/it tastes I might try those.

I am growing from cuttings atm, when I buy weed I think I am quite lucky and do get some "top shelf" stuff. I had a choice of 4 really nice strains over christmas (inc L.A. Confidential) but my dealer doesn't always know what variety he is selling. We also get a lot of Cheese here, I like the hit, but I am not keen on the chemical/earthy taste.

The screen is duct taped to the wall on 2 sides to hold it in place, but otherwise it's not anchored to the plant or pot yet. I'm not letting anything grow above the screen yet. As soon as a shoot pokes through the screen, I pull it back under and stretch it out farther. This way the plant doesn't really have a chance to push up on the screen much.

Eventually I'll anchor it to the main stem in a couple places, when I see the need for it. With this way I can still take the plant out of the closet if I need to without taking the screen with it. I'll do a final transplant to a 20L bucket (now in 15L) probably a week or two into flowering so it has fresh soil for the last 6-7 weeks. By the third week it should stop stretching, start forming buds, and I'll let everything start to grow above the screen. At least that's the plan

Chopped the last hermie, just way too many balls. Still didn't find any pollen, so it may have been sterile, but really didn't want to risk it. Need a perfect harvest.

TW will go into flowering tonight. The screen is starting to fill up. I think it will stretch a lot in the next 2 weeks and fill up most of the screen.

MS is 3 weeks into flowering now, looking very nice.

Pics 2 & 3 are the TW Scrog
Pic 4 is the biggest bud site on the MS
