Here is a link to the form your friend will have to fill out in "BLUE" ink along with specific instructions that are required:

    http://www.cdphe.state.co.us/hs/medi...%20PACKAGE.pdf

Have your friend make copies of everything that is sent in because you will need the copies for your records in order to be legit. I would recommend that you have your friend mail all this information certified and make a copy of the receipt from the USPS as well.

You will not receive anything from the state that says you are the caregiver of this patient. The paperwork you make copies of is your proof!

This is all off the top of my head and if I have made any mistakes somebody please correct me.

Thanks for the advice. It sounds like its awful easy I'm sure this will change... If it makes me legal then thats what I'll do.

Giving up your caregiver rights is probably one of the most misunderstood things about the whole system. I certainly wouldn't do it. In fact, I'm going out of my way not to do it. It prohibits you from growing and buying from any other dispensary. Growing MMJ is about $15 an ounce and lots of fun.

Many are duped into giving up their rights...fair warning

It is not true that assigning someone as one's caregiver prohibits purchases elsewhere.

Perhaps the patient simply filled out the change of caregiver form mentioned above and marked their primary caregiver to "NONE". Now they can go anywhere.
It's all about plant numbers & who grows them. I'd certainly rather retain my rights and grow at $15 an ounce...but to each their own. If someone wants to pay up to $700 an ounce, who am I to stop them? :stoned:

I wouldn't do it unless they are willing to assign you as their caregiver. Look at it this way, who is going to be answering the door when (God forbid) the cops come knocking, because that's who will be going to jail if you have more plants than you have paperwork to justify. Just a word to the wise.
