It will reduce somewhat the efficiency of your intakes, but I think if you turn the airflow 180 degrees one way, and then 180 degrees the opposite direction, you can stop any light from getting through. This probably isn't clear without a diagram, but I'm far too technically challenged to provide one. Maybe someone reading this can post something?
