    Some Advice Please

Hello again everyone. I am here to get some tips on what I'm doing to correct Phosphorous deficiency i bought a soil test kit and the phosphorous test and it came back very low. so since im already using Mg soil with about 30-40 % per-lite I am using this measurement since i heard the MG soil could be to strong for my babys. After i did that i went and got MG All purpose water soluble plant food. I did a full dosage but only watered about less than half a gallon. I did the full dosage cuz its N-P-K is 20-8-15 I know its not alot of P but its all i could get at the moment I wanna move to a better and safer brand but I cant find a place that sells the good ones for MJ. The PH of the water was about 8 before I watered and i checked the run off it was about 7 and the soil after watering is at about 7.5 or 7 even but its dropping slowly.

Get some pH down and pH your water to about 6.3 - 6.8 depending on your soil conditions. I try to pH to 6.5 always, but if I don't hit it exactly it's OK.

A pH of 7.5 is starting to push it I think. My plants were starting to look weird and I had a pH of about 7.3 - 7.5 in the soil. I watered with some pH 6.5 water and they started to look better after a bit.

How old are your plants? If they're really young you may be hurting them by feeding them. I don't know much about MG soil, but I think it's got some nutrients in it already that will cover you for the first 2-3 weeks.

It's going to be a little hard for anyone to give you advice without more info (plant age, clone/seed, watering frequency, size of pots, medium, etc.). Maybe fill out the troublshooting form in the sticky.

Also, are you down in Pima Co AZ? Just curious as I was down in Tucson last month and got mugged...

2.5 gal for a 4 month old plant? Have you checked if it's rootbound?

    Some Advice Please

After checking for rootbound, I'd cut way back on the MG ferts. 1/2 tsp per gallon per week is what I use. (When I run out of my cannabis nutes, and MG is all I've got. Primarily for houseplants, but...) Dosage listed on the MG All Purpose is for two weeks per instructions.

I live near Vegas, and our wellwater comes out at 7.9. I use 1/4 tsp of General Hydroponics PHDown (phosphoric acid) per gallon of water. If you really live in/near Vegas, I'd recommend you hit Star Nursery and grab some Dr. Q's Filthy Rich Potting Soil. I've been using it for years. (add perlite during winter to lighten the soil)

If using a color-coded test, (strips or freshwater aquarium kit) the runoff ph might not be as high as indicated. Are you using a ph pen by chance?

If you are getting serious about growing cannabis, you'll likely want to check on a source for some 2 or 3 part nutrient packages. More flexibility and proven results. Personally, I stick with the Fox Farms trio.

Have you made plans for dealing with heat issues when it warms-up...? Might be some helpful tips for ya in my signature.
