PC-case stealth microgrow experiment with lowrider
moved from:http://boards.cannabis.com/closet-ca...-lowrider.html
Hello everyone!
Basically this experiment began with a debate with my friend about possibilities of pc-case stealth grow. My friend said it's a waste of time, I disagreed. So now I kind of have to show him otherwise.
Aim is to grow 1 lowrider and yield at least 20g. Dont know if thats possible, but we'll see. I'm going to build a bubbler into 5l container and use 4-5 20W cfl's at 2700K for lighting. Lowriders take about 8-9 weeks from seed to harvest, so if this works I can basically cover my ~10g/month smoking habit.
Today I went to buy the largest second hand pc-case I could find and came up with this bad boy (picture). Dimensions: W24cm H67cm D53cm. I teared all the computer stuff out of it, and put some mylar in. Now I have a nice empty case.
A lot of stuff still to figure out, for example I have no idea at this point how I'm going to set up the ventilation. Theres going to be a lot of learning with this grow. I have no earlier experience with lowriders so it's going to be interesting.
Hope you all tune in!JohnnyRico Reviewed by JohnnyRico on . So Johnny, find a few computer case fans. re-install those back in the case. On the fan's hub should be a sticker with all the info you'll need to buy a transformer. You'll need the voltage and amperage and wattage. Take those to Radio shack and tell them you want to run the number of fans you have on one transformer. Then wire them up yourself. Those little suckers can move a LOT of air too!
I use them for many things, Light cooling on my aquarium, Smoke removal on my solder station, cooling my computer.
Good luck, and looks great so far.A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government.

PC-case stealth microgrow experiment with lowrider
First of all, it's nice to see that this thread is getting some interest
I've been browsing some other pc-case grow logs and found only few systems that really worked. It seems to be quite a difficult task.
My first thought for the ventilation was pc fans, but it would have needed at least three of them and then the carbon filter would have been almost impossible to build. So now I mounted this 14W fan that's built for bathroom ventilation and it moves air 99m3/h, so thats plenty enough. The pc case of course is made of metal, not wood as my earlier grow closets and it makes the modifying bit difficult in home circumstances.
