I agree about many of the statements about pending and planned legislation. The current initiatives tho not the ultimate in end result are a start.

AFTER legalization, changes can be made to tax laws regarding cannabis. How it gets distributed (sold) will also be something voters can modify after the fact.

We are wanting our cake, frosted, warm, and with ice cream. I would be satisfied with just cake.

Most of us grow or know someone who does. Do you actually think that will stop with legalization? NOT. My belief is that you will see street prices (black market) fall dramatically.

My biggest concern, is how will the quality of cannabis be if sold in stores that have no idea of how or under what conditions it was grown. What about consistency? How will growers be evaluated to become involved in the supply and demand process?

My point is, any form of reduction in law enforcement's involvement, decreased load on the judicial system, and more folks remaining as productive individuals instead of a burden in jail, is totally acceptable.

Legalize it, then modify the laws via the proper channels. Legalization will really catch the feds eyes, so there is that aspect too, and we seem to ignore that.

How will growers be evaluated to become involved in the supply and demand process? Probably on the local level. It will become more of a localized thing then a national thing although some will try to go nation wide. Great points too.

And its possible that legalization will have the reverse effect. It may drive up prices because the state will become more involved in the taxation and probably some sort of registration and testing of MJ for retail sales.
Hard to see what the future holds.

If Sb 2401 gets passed, we get NOTHING because the feds will seize all property due to no federal lic.(see monson v. dea in the legal section)

If the one filed by attorney doug hiatt passes, oh boy hay day a coming. NO REGULATIONS BY ANY GOV. AGENCY ATTACHED for at least 2 yrs....
