light sensitive clones

i picked up a few blackberry clones from a local clinic and heard they are extremely light sensitive, so i thought no problem, i run a pretty tight schedule with my ladies. Well a week later they appear to be flowering. My light schedule is 18/6 so i dont see the problem. Any help? Can i get then back to veg?

Just keep up with the 18/6 and they will veg. The smooth edged leaves show someone has played with the light cycle. If you have kept them at 18/6 then they had to have been cut from a plant going into flower to develop those sort of leaves. Nothing to worry about though, as they are already producing new serrated edged leaves... they'll veg eventually.

Bit rough coming from a clinic, did the "light sensitive" stuff come from the clinic too? Sounds like they sell a lot of bullshit and spin along with their clones.

Sarah is 100% correct. they came from a flowering plant, the way you tell is the smoothness of leaves. Unless you got autoflowers, which is the same analogy as above, cut from a prior flowering plant.....

P.S. Pic 2 looks like it has a mite web on it in the upper part of the pic. with a baby mite(white one) on the web. Hope I am just seeing things.

If that IS a mite and it's web. It is one great photo! I've been trying to find a good pic to actually SEE a mite. If that is what we are seeing, it's just what I was looking for.

Best method I've heard to kill them suckers is HIGH CO2. However I assume you have no such beastie. I've been thinking about dry ice CO2 as a method of adding it without the tank, regulator and controller for a while as well. If this "mite" is a mite. You might try putting the plant in a semi tall Cardboard box. Seal the lower parts of the box to retain the CO2 while leaving the top open. (CO2 is heavier then air) Then put a pan of dry ice with a touch of water to get it "smoking" over the top of the box. Get as much of the CO2 fog into the box as you can. This should fill the box to overflowing with fog. The high CO2 for an hour or so will kill all the mites and thier eggs. Then while this is going on you need to scrub the area where the plants are normally with something nasty enough to kill all the surrounding mites and/or eggs NOT on the plant when moved.

yeah i noticed the web as well after looking at the pic, i went back to look at it and it was already gone, maybe a hair or thread or something? either way i sprayed em down. these clones were not exactly cheap and are certified nursery clones from a popular local nursery, im pretty irritated about that. should i continue on with the 18/6 or maybe change it 20/4 to ensure full veg? this is my third grow so im still learning quite a bit. thanks for everyones feedback, it has relieved some of my worries.:thumbsup:

Flowering is caused by a chemical(hormonal) build up during the night cycle. Many people start random seed plants(bag seed) into flower early to check the sex before growing the plant out. Once sex is known males are gotten rid of and females returned to Veg some more. It also takes about 10-ish hours of dark for this to to build up enough to happen.

So, unless your doing 14on/10off (or even longer off), the plant/s will return to veg given time. You really shouldn't worry about it much. It'll happen sooner then you believe! :thumbsup:
