Test run with Flowers or Veggies?
Hey I'm putting together a new grow box (its 12"x14"x48") and I dont' want to waste my seeds if things aren't right. What kind of plant, flower, or vegetable would be very similar to the needs of weed plants so I could do a test run without the possibilty of wasting my seeds (I only have 4 seeds).

Well, try tomatoes or strawberries. They should both do well. Try both.
Think of your buds like chocolate chip cookies: some people like em crunchy and some people like em chewy. Personally, I want them tanned golden brown but not crispy....and no one likes cold raw dough in the middle of their cookie.

I would try to get hold of some free bagseeds, IF you can find them, without someone then knowing your growing plans ... tell NOBODY :smokin:

Test run with Flowers or Veggies?
I would just do a "live" test run. After all that work, equiptment finite life span, and energy money..... Heck, even if you get a fair/poor crop, at least you got something other than tomatoes @ $75 each!
Query:
What about doing tomatoes and chilles/peppers along side of "the good stuff"? I'd presume vegging would be no probs so what about flowering? I'd presume weed and tomatoes can not cross polinate much like a cog and a cat can not cross breed.

Both of these plants are useful to grow and can help you get used to looking after vegetation but nothing really compares to sourcing some bagseed or cheap seeds for your first run.
I really can't think of anything that is similar to flowering cannabis and the next person who says tomatoes either doesn't grow tomatoes or doesn't grow weed. There is very little that is similar between the 2 species with respect to flowering.
They do experience a couple of similar problems Mg def and spidermite infestation, the symptoms are look different, but the treatment is the same.
