Yea its botanicare. So bad news on my first grow, it seem the bottom 5 leaves are dying, leaves drooping and turning brown on the ends(pictures attached). This was a free clone from the club for getting into Humboldt state so i don't know if this an issue with the clone or what but it isnt looking healthy. I think it would be best to trim the bottom branches b/c they are dead and only killing the rest of the plant. Comments on this plan? and for trimming the branches, key me in on how to properly do so.

need to find out what the prob is with plant before doing much else. Plant is not feeling well which is very stressfull on plant and trimming will only cause more stress. from what I saw leaves are turning color but nothing is "dead" yet. Is your mix the same as what Loc suggested??

For the cal-mag yes, but the pure grow only has a listed amount for soil, for hydroponic it is by ppm and i dont have a ppm reader. I think this clone just isn't going to make it. I'll keep you updated and tune in for my next grow, you've all been helpful.

New growth appeared on the 16 from the root of the stems in the form of new leaves. Even the dying leaves are showing better color and in turn i am allow them to stay on the plant to prevent stress and help the plant grow. There may still be hope for this plant.

you were very vague on ph not below 5 not above 6.5.so what is it exactly?perfect uptake on nutes is around 6.2.so if your down around say 5.2 or so this can cause nutes uptake to slow which can cause certain nutes not to uptake like nitrogen which plants need a good bit of at a young age. im guessing you don't have a meter and are working off of the drops? another thing is ph swing it's not good to have your ph jumping so much 5.0 to 6.5 it's not a what ever game you need to be on top of it.

first thing i do if i ever have a problem is ck the small things first.alot of times people overthink and ck everything but the easy stuff. ph and temps should be on the list of first things to ck.as both of these things can cause nute lock out. now when i say temps i mean room temp and root zone temps. you need to get a meter,ck these things first then if everything is in line then go to the next in line i.e light is ofcorse a main factor lol and nutes and so on.

did'nt read this post b4 but seems now to only back up what im saying about ph.botanicare does not have ph buffers in them atleast they did'nt unless they changed and i did'nt know it.but im thinking they have'nt they have no ph buffers therefore you ph will drop out at a much faster rate on top of all that what size rez are you in? if your in a hydrofarm pot or 5 gal bucket this will only worsen the ph drop out effect. so that would be 2 or a double wammy on your ph. remember this the smaller the rez= quicker ph drop out.the bigger the rez=the longer the ph will be stable. i run in 20 gal tubs and only have to adjust ph every 7 + days with only a point or 2 drop in ph.

no leave the leafs there not killing the plant there helping it live.the effect you see is the plant eating it's self so to speak.it's not getting the nutes it needs so it's going to it'sself to strip any food/nutes it can to stay alive.unless there totally brown and dead leave them alone.

I ask this since I use GH 3-part which consists of 3 sep bottles (Micro, Grow and Bloom), and during grow each has a certain amount I use. I cant say add more or less since I dont know anything bout the nutes you are using and dont want to steer you wrong. PH needs to be as close to 6.0 as you can get and what is the mix ratio of that stuff?? ml per gal?
yes the plant does need more than just nitro but since his plant is'nt uptaking nutes proper this has caused a drop in the nirto which is uptaken the most in growing/veggin plants.he needs a does of nitro for sure more so now.

mr grape you need to find something high in nitrogen to correct this or else it will get worse.but don't forget what i said above those need to be in ck or else you will run into this problem again.bat guano, micro and so on are sum things high in nitrogen.
