I personally believe the Simpsons is the greatest show on television right now. The writers are hilarious, but theyre also intelligent, you can tell by their jokes, and they actually have pretty good political beliefs.
Haha, the episode on last Sunday night, Otto and Homer have to take piss tests and Otto's is like psychadelic when he looks at it, so he switches the two, and when Homer is confronted he goes on to say "My body is a temple" and starts smoking a stick of butter. I fell off my couch laughing.

Yeah, you're right about the intelligent jokes, they're real clever. Sometimes they're really discreet you have to listen carefully to get them. I hate the older episodes where the drawings are extremely poor, these ones were aimed at children unlike the episodes today. Children would not understand the the humor in it today. The show never gets old either, it gets better. I like the one when homer goes to stay with the gay people or when he takes Bart to the steel works and they all start doing the YMCA lol! The mafia is funny too.

my favorite is, of course, when homer is prescribed medicinal marijuana, i know every line in that episode, in fact, one of them is my signature

The DVDs are fucking awesome too... I just turn on the commentary, and the afternoon disappears. Season 4 has especially good commentary, with the recurring line "We used to use this type of joke a lot; that is, until Family Guy stole it".
Best animated show of all time. You know what? BEST SHOW PERIOD.

The episodes of The Simpsons after season 7 are too lame for words. The first 7 are great though.
