    purple leaves (PICS)

plant is about 10 weeks into flowering, started seeing purple about 4 weeks ago. I seen a post somewhere from the 2001 edition of jorge cervantes grow bible that said purple leaves is possibly from too much salt build up so i flushed them out and have been giving them straight ph'd tap water for the last 2.5 weeks. The plants have only gotten more purple since the flush And i don't know what is causing it. Help

What is your experience level? (first timer, novice, experienced...) (novice)

.8) Size of container. (6 inch by 5 inch high)
.9) Did you use peat pucks (or similar) to root clones or germinate seedlings? (no)

    Your nutrients and water:
    10) Source of water? (tap, bottled or filtered) (tap) What's it's ph before adjusting? (~ph 8)
    11) Method of checking water ph. (ph pen, test strips, aquarium test kit...) (ph pen)
    12) Method of adjusting water ph. (phosphoric acid, white vinegar, hydrated lime, PH Up...) (ph down)
    13) Specific brand and N-P-K ratio for each bottle. List dosages (quantity per gallon) and current feeding schedule. (last feeding was about 2.5-3 weeks ago about .75 tsp per gal of foxfarm growbig+tiger bloom) flushed around 2.5 weeks ago and have been giving them straight ph'd tap water ever since)
    14) How often are you watering between feedings, and how much per watering? (was feeding every other watering 3/4 to full strength foxfarm nutes)
    15) Any additives or tea's? (Superthrive, CalMag, molasses, Mother's Earth...) (no)
    16) Are your ph levels stable, or do they fluctuate? (tapwater out of tap? can fluctuate between 7.5 - 8.5)
    17) What is your ingoing water's ph? ...your runoff ph? (ingoing 6.5 - 6.7, runoff 6.5)

i might be wrong about this, but I know of many strands that naturally ave purple leaves.. (ie. Purple Kush)... those girls look great, i would think you are doing just fine with them.

sorry.. i meant to say more, Those are ready for harvesting, i would cut them and hang them immediatley.. 10 weeks of flowering is more than enough and you can see most the hairs have gone orange. The purple kush, and many other purple strands get more purple towards the end of the flowering (more experience people please feel free to correct me if i am wrong)

First look I'd say just from the temps getting low during the night....That frigid air....

which in case a lot of times would then be from having to much phosphorus...Usually starts in the stalk/stems.

The bad purple is mainly when your stems turn it I believe.

    Those look ready from here.
Think of your buds like chocolate chip cookies: some people like em crunchy and some people like em chewy. Personally, I want them tanned golden brown but not crispy....and no one likes cold raw dough in the middle of their cookie.

I completely agree... Most strains will turn purple if the temps are low in the night cycle during flowering. It's a defense mechanism of the plant to protect from the cold. I hear anywhere below 70 degrees F will make it happen.

However, People will love the way your bud looks... it's a common misconception that purple = amazing.
When in doubt, fill it out. :CanCom Troubleshooting Form:jointsmile:

Those buds are ready, i would say it is the strand and possibly cold as Italian said.. i put my exhaust fan on the same timer as my lights so that the cold air at night is not pumped into my grow tent.. you should not be going below 70 definitley not down to 65.. but better you know that for next crop cause this one is done.
