lots of strains have purple leaves while flowering. I find it actually really pretty. Your plants look good but ready to pull and hang. I wouldn't let them sit any longer in your grow room. 10 weeks is a really long time to flower plants. I would stick with the basic 8 week rule.

    TO BE SURE ITS DONE:

Harvest time is NOT DETERMINED by how the calyxs look, but by how the trichomes look. The calyxs turning red will not accurately tell you when to harvest.

get a magnifying glass and look at the trichomes... they should be getting a little cloudy looking if they are ready for harvest. wait even longer (till they are cloudy and amber colored) for a stonier high.

Better yet, look at this guide.
Pictures on When to Harvest - Trichome colours - 420 Magazine

It explains the coloration of trichomes relative to harvest times and types of highs. pretty cool shit if you ask me.

    good luck

I would agree that if you harvested them this second you'd have some tasty smoke, probably with a headie energetic high. If you're looking more for the stonier, more narcotic high, they aren't necessarily ready. the only way to be sure is with a magnifying glass.

thanks everyone, almost 2 days without a response than 13 in 2 hours, interesting. i figured that most would say temps. I've been checking the trichomes with a magnifying glass but still no amber on any of my plants and all 3 of my plants are different strains. I think I gave them a little too much nitrogen in flowering which delays maturity.

Yeah, from the pictures the trichomes do like a little cloudy... so you could harvest if you want. but if you're growing for medicinal purposes, chances are you're looking for a more narcotic high. i've heard of people letting plants flower for up to 12 weeks for this purpose.

It all depends on what YOU want.

Good post, but what you meant to say is don't go by the pistil color, the calyx is the body that surround the pistils or "hairs."
