Thanks Bigtops. It's pretty cool how much better the light is penetrating into the stem area... i think the lack of lights caused a whole bunch of tiny off shoots to form but not really grow all that much. Or maybe it has nothing to do with the lights, but either way- they're really compacted and im hoping the increased penetration will help those little shoots bud up real nice and thick... I guess we'll see.

But in a cfl grow, is it more important for the lights to be above the plant, or on the sides? Right now I have four plants, each a little over a foot high, and very healthy. However, they are starting to get to the point where i'm nervous not enough light is penetrating to the new growth coming in at the bottoms of the plants. I have one 23w (100watt eqv.) above each plant, and one in the middle of all four plants. I also have two 4' Rating: 5
