of course god controls karma... if you don't do what he says he will pound you into dust. if you do what he says he will think about not pounding you into dust, but he will never let you forget that he has the right to pound you any time he wants because you were born messed up (aka original sin)! that sounds so negative so i prefer to look at it like this.. "think of how gracious god is that he even allows some of us to be saved... he didn't have to... he is soooooooooooooooooo good!"

well god stopped giving such huge spectacular signs of his existence long ago for a simple reason. too many people where starting to believe! he still had this great creative idea of a giant end of days battle between light and dark that still hadn't been carried out. if everyone got saved then there would be no battle and existence would end so anti-climatically. that is why he doesn't wipe out whole nations anymore.

haiti was different. pat robertson made a pact with satan that he would give his soul in return for satan destroying haiti to increase his network ratings and so he could embezzle money one last time through false relief efforts. god had no hand in it. he was as shocked as any of us when he heard it on Fox news.
