Nanotech and the end of the world.
Thats hilarious that you think the Ozone layer blocks Electromagnetic fields Smoking....better do some research into Astrophysics. It's not a literal tongue of flame.....Geez man before you say something is "ridiculous" do some research on the subject....But hey why let facts creep into your view....*you do realize there is over 30 types of energy that come off the sun right?* ....

In case you dont know what nanotech is here are a few links. http://www.zyvex.com/nano/ http://e-drexler.com/p/idx04/00/0325nanoOverview.html Basically, nanotechnology is he use of microscopic robots to manipulate objects on a molecular scale. Also, scientists say that these "nanobots" or nanites could be given the ability to self-replicate. This means that, theorietically, a swarm of nanites could exponentially expand, consuming all life on Earth. Just in case you were wondering, Rating: 5

lol, you just listed the augs from 'Deus Ex' (good game!), what i meant by 'they don't exist', to paraphrase myself, is that they are not advanced in the way that you describe, and most likely won't be. plus, i don't quite understand what you mean when you say that the can take on pretty much any charicteristic or function needed. could they change between functions? would they need some sort of AI? could they take on ANY role? how would active camo work? wouldn't they need to have some kind of colour canging device, I mean, this is some crazy shit! i guess they're only atoms in size, but how do you manipulate a few atoms? "ok guys, i need you to be bullet-proof now, put these tiny kevlar vests on" , lol, i don't see it.

also, on the subject of replication of other matter,
I'd love to smoke a bowl of nano bot's!

Well I have to give you the benefit of the doubt...

P.S. It's not a "theory" your referring to Smokin, its a hypothesis. My comment was not a hypothesis its a "theory" of astrophysics (like the "theory of gravity")....So don't believe it if you dont want , if you dont believe in gravity I can't stop you , but you still won't float off the earth no matter how hard you try...(hope you get the point). Call any energy ministry's "question" line and ask them what their biggest "fear" is....It's solar flares as they can knock out power very easily. But hey don't listen to me look it up.....I suggest any of Stephen Hawking's books....

ok so how often do these solar flares occur? and how long will it take before these fuckin mini bots are released? thats the only thing that is relevent because i know for a fact that solar flares that are of a magnitude large enough to wipe out vast areas of electronics come few and far between. true? yes.
the bottom line is not that some guy on a cannabis forum doesn't know about solar flares. it's that we are going to create our own doom. if a solar flare is all we can depend on we better get working on how to replicate a solar flare because it WILL NOT HAPPEN when we need it to. this is also true.

True only every few years of huge magnitude. We are a rather small target in a huge array of possible targets. Although we can already replicate EMP on a small scale so it wouldnt be that difficult if it was our main concern. (although get ready to live in the "dark ages" again for awhile
)
And, Buzz the quotations are for emphasis and context. As to your last post too much Futurama and Simpsons for you
