600w MH Bulb busted?

My light didnt come on this evening. I discovered it about 15 minutes after the fact. As I was farting around with it, it would come on for a brief second and then off again. I recalled that I started flowering last week anyway so I put in my HPS bulb that I meant to do last week. So about the MH bulb, is it busted or what? It gets pretty cold in my grow spot so I wonder if it didnt have something to do with the bulb wearing out so soon. I have only used it for about 3 months now. Is there a way to inspect the bulb and determine if it's blown?

not a good idea to take a chance with that lamp - a tiny crack in the globe, releases ultra-violet rays that are quite dangerous to skin, eyes, etc ... you can buy replacements at ' 1000bulbs.com ', they're in TX, their prices seem to beat everyone's, they ship FAST, and are great, regarding any problems, damage, etc ... ( good idea to wear eye protection around your lamps ), I 'suddenly' acquired a cataract, went blind in one eye :wtf: ,requiring surgery, soon after fooling with my new lamps (coincidence ? probably, but who knows for sure ?) :smokin:
