Corry's Response to Romer's latest Bill
Thanks to CTI for posting and emailing.
let's spread this far and wide. Put that link up in comments sections on newspapers and forums and blogs and wherever.
The only bummer is it is PDF and hard to excerpt.. maybe someone will get Corry to pass along a text version.

And thanks for finding and posting it too cocobo.A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government.

Corry's Response to Romer's latest Bill
Given the Pavlovian salivation the media demonstrates when anything mmj-related comes to it's attention, I would think Mr. Corry could get this document published as an editorial in at least Westword, and probably others, inclu7ding maybe even some TV coverage. Moreover I think it is absolutely necessary that it be attempted. The public needs to be inundated with these messages, to counter-act the fact that now the police-spokespersons of the Metro area ( the Sonny Jackson League) have agreed to blame every future crime on medical marijuana.

Corry's Response to Romer's latest Bill
Is it just me or does Corry go a tad overboard with a few of his comments?
This can be attributed mostly to a very vocal minority of fanatical biddies, grandmothers, and other Communist nanny-types who are somehow â??offendedâ? that some suffering people use a 10,000-year-old Old and New Testament-recognized scientifically-proven holistic organic plant remedy instead of synthetic chemicals and pills. Until these poisonous haters die off (from their own narcotic and alcohol addictions that could be cured by the plant they hate), as an elected politician, you probably still have to put some grease on these very irritatingly squeaky wheels.

However we all get excited and angry sometimes. Still a good factual statement either way. Just more offensive then need be.
Then he starts the true statement with the proven, documented and historical facts (Just to set the premise of the statement). Then finishes it with the shocking facts of how people have been trained to believe a lie. While standing themselves up as saints, deigning their own faults and addictions.
I know, and have known MANY people and family members who have thrown their lives away to alcohol and/or prescription drugs. Most, (but not all of them) had this strange hatred for mj. Acting as though those people are addicts, Thus should at least be jailed to protect everyone (including themselves) from their addiction. While simultaneously sucking down the pills, booze (or both).
I also like how he added the holistic nature of mmj, Then pointed out synthetic drugs. Thus portraying them as questionable. (Personally I may have pointed out the often untested nature of these drugs too.:thumbsup
The unfortunate fact is though. Many of these people who are so set in their ways are an older generation(WHO VOTE REGULARLY). Most of whom were shown the nasty films portraying mj as an evil killer that often drove the user mad. These people have seen this their entire lives. While seeing mj's side being portrayed as hippies, criminals, Cheech & Chong types and gangsters, which reinforced the governments side. Very few of these people understand this was the same side, the same people and the same misinformed view being pushed AS two sides. While simultaneously NOT giving the mj crowd's views, facts or true nature of those people and this plant.
This being said he could have left out the dying off part. Unfortunately our side has a habit of not voting(the young don't vote much). So until these older people pass on(no matter how horrible that sounds), they will still be very well heard. Where as getting the young to vote is harder then it sounds. Regardless of if they support mj or not.
All of that leads to the fact that we've seen a huge rise in the pro-MMJ vote as the previous anti-MMJ generation has dwindled.
So, yea a bit to harsh, could have been better written, but still true.A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government.

i think sometimes things need to be said in a harsh way.they attack at will anytime they want and the leo/state loves it.but when we do it it's being to harsh?i think not it's not like saying it in a nice way would change there minds.these people are very narrow minded people and most of the time only think of themselfs.if you lay down the facts to where they have no choice but to understand it and they still press on with there control tactics then i say fuck em lets be harsh...
