Anyone try an Arizer Exreme Q Vaporizer

I have noticed your posts in other forums, you seem rather fixated on the purple days and myrtle zap type vapes. Have you ever used any other types?

Fixated? LOL. I wouldn't say fixated. The Purple Days is my daily workhorse however just because it's so damn efficient. I also have a VaporGenie, VapoStar, Iolite and a Buddha. For portable use, I really don't like the VaporGenie due to the fact that they're pretty tricky to use on windy days. The Iolite just tastes kinda funky to me and the vapor hits seem too diluted. They vape at too low a temp for my liking. Seriously thinking about getting a LaunchBox though being that they have been getting some rave reviews. I'll whip out the Buddha when I want those super thick bong like rips, but it does that at the sake of efficiency. Being that I'm not a grower, and not rich by any means, getting the most from my bud is very important to me, so I go for the Purple Days 99% of the time.

A close friend of mine has a 'Cano, but the high air to vapor ratio just doesn't do it for me.

So in answer to your question, yes, I own multiple vapes and have used many others and no, I am not fixated on the Purple Days. It just does what I need it to do for me, and that is, it gets me high while conserving my bud.

I've heard the same, but I believe that those issues are addressed in the new "Q" model and was one of the main reasons for it being produced. Warranty costs were just getting out of line.

Yup, Mojo, that's all that I was trying to do. Give the guy the best advice that I can, gained from my experience with many different vapes as well as the tons of reading that I've done on various boards and what I get in return is an accusation that I am obsessed with a Purple Days.

The funny part about this is, is that I could post up a gazillion threads where I have recommended other vapes to users who didn't mention that efficiency was high up on their priority list. If he didn't mention "efficiency" in his original post, I never would have mentioned the PD.

I'm done. At this point, I could give a fuck what he gets. Grrrr....

See thats what I am looking for Good Honest personal prefrences. I know when I usually endevor into something new with out doin the research i spend more than I have to and end up with too many seldom used items gathering dust.

Well Thank you for your info and experience in the vapes If there was no waiting list on the purple days I would go for that cause it sounds like what i need. And good to know on the "cano".
I want hits that do the job and unlike smoking I should be able to handle the vape. So hmmm perhaps I will get 2, Start off with the Arizer Extreme and wait for a purple days.

One more bit of "fixated" advice for you. If you want a vape that will give you consistent super thick and rich bong like rips, get the SSV or the Buddha. Vapes like the Extreme or the HerbalAir are great combo whip/direct/bag vapes, but...........they are a jack of all trades and a master at none.

Dude What do ya want. I come in here among other users of the green goodness. And you spout off the virtues of the purple days. (which is a good unit from what i can see of it) but the couple producing them are 10 weeks back logged according to the website and i sent an email out yesterday and got a responce concerning the waiting time and its still 10 weeks. so if i put an order in for one today 1/08/10 - 3/19/10 would be possible shipping or delivery date.

I did mention efficiency. I also heard the volcano was efficient. Sounds like it isnt according to you and I trust your experience.

Sorry if the mention of the word fixated ruffled some feathers. I am not sorry though because you then showed me the experience you have had with other types of units which is exactely what I needed.

And because of that, I gave you another option with the MytrleZap which is just as efficient as the Purple Days.

I'll say it one more time.

If you want efficiency, get a Purple Days or a MyrtleZap.
If you want super rich bong like rips, get an SSV or a Buddha.
If you want a great party vape, get a 'Cano.
If you want a vape that you can hit thru a bong, the best there is the VripTech Heat Wand
If you want a vape that will do bags and whips, but won't do bags as good as a 'Cano and won't do whips as good as a SSV or a Buddha, get the Extreme or the HerbalAir.

Of course, you can just ignore everything I just said. Your choice.

DBV and he SSV both are practically Identical except the only difference I can ascertain is the slanted shape of the SSV.

The electrical components and heater are the same, but the DBV is hands free (only), while that's an option with the SSV. The larger opening on the DBV's HF heater cover also gives you more air per hit, so the SSV's hits are more vapor rich, while the DBV's are more predictable. DBV also takes a hair more care during use, due to the horizontal heater angle and ground glass connection (the same would be true for the SSV with the ground glass HF setup, but not the standard).

The arizer extreme v3.0 is nice Does whip hits and also does baloons. And has a supposed accurate temp displayed. The DBV and the SSV have a knob with no indications as to temperaure so you need to go thru a trial and error type phase to know what the knob should be at for you.

Actually the Extreme has never displayed the true vaping temp. Version 1 showed the temp at the heater. v2 had the heat sensor a little closer to the bowl. v3 is closer. Any vape, analog or digital, requires the user to find his own preferred temp setting. The actual vaping temp, the temp you get applied to the herb during a hit, also depends on just how hard you draw. Two different draw speeds will produce two different vaping temps. If you want a consistent temp applied every time, with every user, you'd use a vape that fills bags. And the best hits from the Extreme are achieved by packing the elbow screen, not the bowl, and that's even further from the heater. The Extreme's bowl is large, and the unit has fairly large airways, so the direct draw hits aren't as rich as the DBV, let alone the SSV.

You might also want to consider quite a bit more glass, and digital circuitry, with the Extreme, if you want to factor in reliability. Digital's lesser reliability is shown by the Volcano Digit's 2 yr. coverage, vs. 3 for the analog Classic.

Can't beat the E for the best combination of bag and whip delivery, although I'd be sure you're really going to use the bag feature. It's great for group vaping, but most people eventually end up using the whip method for one or two people.

The Extreme Q is going to be the new version of the model, not an additional one. It's the same vape, just improved. Buying v.3 to save $20 or so would be a mistake IMO. eBay prices will get better when it's available from more dealers.
