I have a relative who works for a VA hospital. The VA cannot 'prescribe' or recommned it because the VA is a federal agency. This facility is in a MMJ legal state, but the physicians there are not allowed to broach the subject.

They are getting it, but it is difficult. They use the State laws to get the necessary meds.

I would posit that with Camp Pendleton and other military bases in California, some vets and active duty status personnel aren't clandestinely getting mmj. I would have to admit, if I was one, I'd be tasking some records to the docs that sign. And units with multiple tours aren't going to sweep their ranks and realistic one's would look the other way if its not effecting readiness but helping it. Cannabis is a great morale booster sir.
