    Why Not Vets??

I would posit that with Camp Pendleton and other military bases in California, some vets and active duty status personnel aren't clandestinely getting mmj. I would have to admit, if I was one, I'd be tasking some records to the docs that sign. And units with multiple tours aren't going to sweep their ranks and realistic one's would look the other way if its not effecting readiness but helping it. Cannabis is a great morale booster sir. Why Not Vets??

I couldn't agree more Gypski!! As a Marine myself I would love to see the VA make MMJ available to vets. It's not like it' a big secret that vets smoke weed, and for PTSD and the such, it sounds like it could be a miracle drug.

    Good article!

    Why Not Vets??

i've got a buddy that just tells them flat out at the V.A. that he uses it for pain management and it works MUCH better that the crap they want him to take. I think they would help him if they could but not much they can do I guess. I think all vets should automatically be given the right to grow as much as they need legally for medical use. . . . and eneogh for their good buddies. :rastasmoke:

    Why Not Vets??

    High Boaz,

I spent a few years in the Navy and have to go to the VA for chronic back pain and depression. I just recently told my doc that I smoke to help with both of these issues and I don't want to take hydrocodones like they're tic tacs. He's against it (of course) but he can't stop me or do anything else including call the law on me. There are days when it hurts so bad it's hard to even breathe.

I messed my backup and caught hep c while in the Navy, made it worse in a car accident years later. Smoking helped me get through the 20 plus pills a day I was taking and the three times a week injections in the stomach for the hep c.

If it hadn't been for smoking, I wouldn't have made it through the year long treatment. That was so painful I hope I never go through it again.

I agree with all of you, it should be completely legal for all vets to grow and smoke as much as they need for any reason. The fact that a vet served to defend this country is good enough for me.

    Thank you for your service!

Just to clear up what I meant to say. .......some vets and active duty personnel are clandestinely getting mmj. Sorry if there was any confusion, but it appears there wasn't. And its good to see that vets and active duty agree. Semper Fi.

    Why Not Vets??

I have a relative who works for a VA hospital. The VA cannot 'prescribe' or recommned it because the VA is a federal agency. This facility is in a MMJ legal state, but the physicians there are not allowed to broach the subject.

They are getting it, but it is difficult. They use the State laws to get the necessary meds.

And they have to be very careful if they're in a pain management program with the vets hospital. They'll bounce you if you pop positive.

^ good point, btw, I was not recomending anyone tell the V.A. they smoke like my buddy did. you have to know him to know why he can get away with it  but I wouldn't do it.
