    Serious Down Issue

Hey guys, I just had my first grow, I got a decent amount, but I noticed a really harsh down when I smoked the results. Could this be caused by how they were grown? They were flushed 1-2 weeks in advance of harvest. Thanks.

Usually that means you harvested a bit late...

Could just be the strain or as Redtails mentioned, harvested late. If you are working with clone stock try cutting a little earlier.

Well, what I did, is take them out, I let them hang upside down for a week, and then I trimmed the plants. I put them in glass jars, but I guess the buds were not dry enough to be cured, so the glass jars built up a lot of water on the walls, so I took everything, and dried them to a crispy dryness. I didn't like how it dried to the point of being REALLY crispy, so I put it back in the jars, and they never got back to the point of being less crispy...

Quick drying will really effect the quality. The longer you allow them to slow dry the more mellow they will be. I've got some stuff thats been in a jar for over a year and it is so mellow. Try to get to a point where you can allow your buds to slow cure and you'll end up with a nicer product.

Ah, well, last year was my first year so I'm glad to learn about this before the next one. Thanks Killer. I wish I could try the stuff that you cured for so long. Must be a riot
