    Too Late to Save? pics!

Here are pics of my plants in flower... 7 days is all. My two bagseeds went hermie (spitting pollen already) and I am wondering if it's too late to save these girls from impregnation... or is it too late? SEE PICS

When can a plant get pregnant?

I'd guess you got some seeds coming. It's likely at least a few picked up some pollen. If it's for yourself then just watch out for bowl mines!

However this is the Colorado area. You should have posted this in the growing area lower on the main page. Not all the pros check Colorado to give growing advise.

Thanks for the reply... I"m so bummed
I guess I'm going to ride it all out... it jacks up my grow cycle
big time. I just read that it takes 2 weeks from the first appearance of pistils and pods before a plant can get pollenated. There is a lot of contadicting info out there.

    Not sure what to do.

First, I am assuming you have removed the cause of possible pollenation.

That is all you can do, well that and wait. Odds are you will have some seeds. That will reduce your yield of usable medicine and could cause potency to drop somewhat but you should let it go and see what you end up with. It will not be as good as it could be but it is great to see your efforts produce something you can actually consume.

Once you figure out what your doing spend some cash and get a few good clones or some decent seed stock. Bag seed is unknown and all could end up hermi. It could be in the genes of the bag seed. I started with bag seed and almost every plant was different. It was a very unstable strain so some would take alot longer to flower than others, some would hermi, and some looked like sativas and others looked more indica.

Good luck, there is nothing like growing your own.

depending on how long it's been u can go get sum dutchmasters reverse it will atleast stop them from going any further.now whats been done is done but it can cut it down a good bit where it can still focus on bud production.you can still get sum good bud off of them.if anything else you can make canna butter or hash with the real seeded stuff.and pick every nanner off u see.go over each plant and pick all that u see and go get reverse if it has'nt been to long.

You mention flowering for 7 days?

Where the males that you pulled also flowering for the same amount of time?

If so, you shouldn't have a problem. I don't think a male can produce pollen in only 7 days of flowering...could be wrong.

I am a hobby grower so I feel your pain. Its always tuff when your girls are not perfect its worse if they are he/she.

The thing is with your bag seed is that I suspect it was a seed from a plant that hermied. Odds are then that any seed you plant could turn on you. It just might be in the genetics of the seed.

I assumed you were using soil. I find for a new grower its a little less complicated. Soil is much more forgiving of temp and PH changes. Ofcourse if you stress a plant out enough it can create a hermi. It has been my experience that it is not easy to stress out a plant enough to make it polinate itself, it seems to depend on how stable the pheno is for each strain.

It is certainly easier to work the kinks out of your grow with bag seed. I did it and I know many who have started with bad seed as well. Once you got your room together really look at purchasing some good clones or seed stock. You will not regret it if you take the time to get the correct strain for your grow space and personal needs.

Having a plant herm can be as easy as letting a plant go longer than it's supposed to, having a small light leak, or your temps being out of whack, especially with the diesel family. Don't fret just cull your hermies, take it for what it was, a learning experience. I too on my first grow, popped some bagseed, they didn't herm on me but they were definitely less than desirable..Live and learn
