Yeah your right and I think its because people are willing to pay more for a safer place to get it...which for now I think is a novelty but I am not sure if there is really much of a free market and supply system set up as I would think would exist if it were produced and sold like tabacco or beer, which are both harder to grow/brew

Yes you will be. Its still in there. But they want to have state liquor stores selling to the people who can't grow so the prices would really be high in a liquor store.

IF we are talking about HB2401, it DOES NOT allow for personal cultivation, AND it removes the legal protections for MMj people to grow their own.
IF you think it allows for personal cultivation , show me the Sec. and line.
On the other hand, HB 1177 does NOT change 69.51RCW

I AM a MMj patient here in WA. and I am all for the complete legalization of Cannabis for adults , cultivation AND possession. BUT,I am not for giving the state total control over Cannabis production.
If you read HB2401 you will see that the state will issue licenses to growers, for the specific purpose of suppling the State Liquor stores. The state will not allow any possession of Cannabis that does NOT HAVE A STATE STAMP on the package.
Anyone caught growing or possessing Cannabis without a state license will get busted ,just as it is now.

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - A House committee is rejecting changes to the state's marijuana laws.

The Public Safety Committee on Wednesday voted down a measure to legalize marijuana for those 21 and older, and another that would decriminalize possession of small amounts of pot for adults.

Chairman Chris Hurst, D-Enumclaw, voted against both, saying he couldn't vote for something that conflicted with federal law.

The legalization bill failed on a 6-2 vote, while the decriminalization bill failed on a 5-3 vote. A decriminalization measure is still alive in the Senate, although a public hearing hasn't yet been scheduled for it.

Last week, activists in Washington state filed a ballot initiative that would legalize all adult marijuana possession, manufacturing and sales.
