So where does this currently stand? I know as of 2009 the senate approved the bill and then the assembly's committee voted in favor - but then what happened? Did it just sit? And I know Gov. Corzine said he would sign but now we have the new administration coming in. As you can tell, I'm quite worried about the future of this legislation.

I'm very interested as my grandparents live in NJ and might be applicable for MMJ

Well If they had a website I could show some support but I choose not to facebook or twitter. I dont trust such sites. For now they could be safe but considering the history of a similar site called myspace, I gotta pass on all that facebook and twiter nonsense. My personal info is mine and mine alone.

To bad obama couldnt get medical marijuana approved for the nation. Since after all we are the "people" along with our neighbors and their neighbors.... and that document that was written to help govern our nation that starts out with " We the People..." :rastasmoke:

I think the current status of the Bill would be referred to as stalled.. Can't recall the dates but same shit happened back in like 06 or 07, then they started all over again or some shit.. and back then corzine said he would sign the Bill if it made it to his desk. if it doesn't get passed before Corzine's office ends, I think I heard the new governor wants to make the New Jersey Compassionate Use Medical Marijuana Act a lil less compassionate and a lil more restricted.. unless of course he goes back on his "support" for the bill which suddenly manifested during his run for governor..

The vote has not stalled. NJ will pass medical marijuana on 01/11/2010. The assembly and the Senate are all infavor of this bill and Corzine is going to sign it into law... Do a little research and you will find the facts. Medical marijuana is here in 2010!

Today is a huge day for NJ! Assembly just voted in favor of medicinal usage and the Senate will vote on it before the end of today. Let it be known that the Senate already voted in favor of a less restrictive MMJ bill in 2009 - so it looks good! Plus, Corzine already said he would sign in favor of the bill if it reaches his desk!

The only unfortunate part of this story is that, if signed into law, NJ will be the most strict MMJ state in the country. But hey, its definitely a start!

The law passed but one has to be dying or near death to be eligible.
