Does ADHD make you more sensitive to marijuana
I started smoking to treat my ADHD. I have it severely. Some days I can function as long as I am in a good mood. If not in a good mood very hard to function. And for about 3 months I went through a pretty good sized depression and did litterally nothing but work and sit at home. I was DONE with it and I don't trust the current meds for adhd honestly. So I did some research and find out that marijuana actually does very well for people with ADHD. Now back to my original question.... I just started a few months ago. At first I just used aluminum foil to make a home made pipe and used it for 3 weeks or so and things went well. It wasn't very large.. really honestly a one hitter. For reference I used a bic pen as a mold and the bowl was about a cm deep. Well I decided to get a real pipe. Got me a nice glass one with a big cavity in it for marijuana. I fill it up to about 3/4 full typically (what I figured would be the norm for an average person to get high) I just gets me stoned... Stoned to the point of feeling sick and dizzy and eyes almost completely shut.... At that time sucked when I was high but when not high FULL of energy and my adhd was at a minimum so I figured I would keep dealing with it because the feeling a couple times a day was worth it to keep my adhd... It keep happening so I am thinking man this marijuana has to be bad so go more..... same thing and now on next strand same thing.... Now while all this was going on the normal day time clarity! turned into down almost like I was stoned all day..... I had many panic attacks when high.... Had none of this energy people talk about or creativity or even the help with the adhd that so many people speak of.. I was really getting frusterated... Then I started to read a few people talking about they are more sensitive than others to MJ(sorry tired of typing it)... Then I read veterans saying when they first started smoking they sometimes would litterally end up stoned into the next day till they smoked again that night... I know the high isn't suppose to last that long... But my question goes if I am EXCEPTIONALLY sensitive to it could I stay high a long longer when I take that much in because the level in my blood is still elevated?... And also anybody that has ADHD and smoke... Were you way more sensitive ???? What brought this up last couple of days been trying to take 1 to 2 hits once a day then instead of doing my 8 plus at bed time I just do 3... 3 gets me to the point of litterally being retarded.... 1 seems to get me high... still playing with it so don't have the complete results .. But is that possible taking in enough that you stay all the next day.... Like when I am high now I can function a little more. (just started doing this last night and today) and when i am not high my mind seems to be getting much quicker now when not high.. Also something that kinda me thinking about this was like at work (don't smoke in the morning) I would be down all day then about 4pm every day I would get a boost of energy and being alert and "with it"... kinda like when you come down from being high after the burn out.. So I am rambling now... Also since I am a newb how long does it take to reach the peak of the high after you smoke

I dont really know if you are more sensitive or not. However, I know that when I first started smoking, I was really lazy. I would always smoke myself stupid with very little weed. After awhile, you build up a tolerance and start becoming more productive I think. I now write for a magazine and usually toke before I start. Hope I helped, Good luck!

Well I have been smoking herb for about 15-16 years with a few breaks but not many. As far as meds I have been the poster child for Ritalin/Concerta etc since I was 10 many many moons ago. Then switched to Wellbutrin and didn't do well with that. Adderal is basically legal Meth and shouldn't be used lightly. I am hyper all the time without meds and cut people off while talking to them. I can barely focus at times, unless its something that I really dig then look out its over focusing. Pot helps me but I can't just walk around smoking all the time so I need to use stimulates to adjust. I can get ripped off a few hits of just about any weed. I have no issues with finding bomb ass green so its not the quality its just me. Receptors are different for everyone.
How long the buzz last for me is another matter. If the green is good it might keep me relaxed for two hours or so not too much more then that. I should have a tolerance but I smoke maybe a bowl or less and its game over. I have adjusted diet and several other factors in my life that helped me.
Do you drink coffee? Exercise? or just have an active lifestyle? Those things I addressed and it helped. Adderal is going to mess my heart up if I continue to take it being that I have for so long. Bud on the other hand won't hurt me so I am trying for more of that and less of the other. Oh also when you smoke what type of environment are you usually in? Home a friend's house or what? That plays a part for me as well. Hope things level out for you! Good thread as well.

I agree with what frosted posted out from my own experience as well, main thing for me is to find a good dose that helps but isn't making me "stoned" and unproductive. THC binds to your Anandamide receptors in the areas of your brain that control thinking, memory, and movement. Too much and you can throw the balance out of whack causing the many different "side-effects" just like any medicine. As was pointed out, it effects everyone differently and your tolerance is really low right now, so start with a hit and dial in your own dosage based on how that works.
You really should look into growing your own because every strain has different effects and strengths, so getting your mmj from a dealer isn't usually ideal because they seldom only deal with one type for long periods of time. In general, I believe Sativa-dominant strains help better with focus and concentration. If you're looking more into controlling the hyperactivity aspect then mostly Indicas are probably for you. I look for slightly Indica-dominant strains myself, because it's also used for general pain and sleep.

Oh & I've had weed that straight knocked me out for 3 days, but typically it takes only a few minutes before peak effect and should last 1-3hrs. Coming down has the opposite effect on me as you described, makes me straight retarded and sleepy. Then again caffeine and certain other chemicals are also backwards for me...
Regardless, if you're looking for a longer lasting effect without that retarded feeling I suggest eating it. THC is fat, alcohol, & oil soluble so it's best used in butter, milk, alcohol, & oil containing recipes. I recommend trying to make some cannabutter and put that into some cookies. My favorite is my own recipe I like to call Forghetti: melt some cannabutter over a small plate of cooked spaghetti noodles & toss in some parmesan, italian seasoning, garlic, crushed red pepper, etc...
