New Grower - Doesnt Seem to Bud???

Ok, so I have had this plant on 12/12 for about 2 weeks now and it is still popping out new sets of leaves but cant tell if its male or female and cant see any kind of bud type growth anywhere on it..

The plant is approx 24 inches tall now but in between branches where the balls or white hairs should be I dont see anything..

Any ideas or info would be most appreciated!

What medium? (potting soil, hydro, coco...)
What kind of nutrients? (brand, type, and N-P-K numbers)
What kind of lights and at what distance from tops?
What strain? (sativa dominate, indica dom, autoflower...)

Excessive nitrogen near time for flowering will delay that flowering. (as will too much during flowering)
Insufficient lighting can also cause delays.

Here is the info on how its being grown:
potting soil - miracle grow moisture control
just using plain water now, was using miracle grow african violet 20-20-20
Its a metal halide 400w and I keep it around 18 inches from top of plant
unsure of strain, it is bag seed

i had the same problem, just give it time. I'm also running 400w and i was in 12/12 for about 2 weeks before i got any signs of sex; even thought the plants were both roughly around 2 feet tall when i started flowering

What he's leaving out of this thread (but not his other thread) is the plant is in his bedroom and he watches TV in the room during the plants "dark" time.:wtf:

As I posted in the other thread (http://boards.cannabis.com/basic-gro...nt-no-bud.html). the plant needs complete dark to flower. ANY light can stop this process. Place the plant in comlete darkness for 12 hours per day and flowering will begin. :thumbsup:

12 hours of complete darkness is NOT a suggestion. It is the only way to flower Indica/Sativa strains.

Doubtful the nutrients you're adding are helping much, either. You'll want something with much less nitrogen for flowering. Likely the micronute ratios are off in the AV nutes, too.

Any more threads with hidden secrets we should know about?
