Well I am still digesting the information from the posts.
Its 6 months since my MI and during my check up I was informed that I have "significant arterial blockage" which is called peripheral arterial disease.
Because of the restricted blood supply I have been warned that I must face up to the very real possibility of amputation of my legs.
I guess I'm paying the price of all those years of excess.
One things for sure , if I'm going down then I'm going down fighting.

Glad to hear things are going well. MJ can really jack with your heart rythms. Has gave myself and a fair number of other old hippy chums Atrial Fib. Which is something I doubt you want on top of your other troubles that is unless you already have it. Shouldn't hurt anything if that be the case :stoned:

Best part is only about 150 at the doctors and some insurance are paying for it now. Have you seen the price for a stenth or bypass surgery is ? Just two stenths has finally put me into bankrupt.
Rambling, So check it out you got nothing to lose.

I finally have to speak up here. I am a former EMT Paramedic, wife is an RN, so we are medically oriented.
I had a threatened MI this last January. It was not a full blown MI because I knew all the signs and was able to chill until they got a stent in. I had a 99% blockage in the artery that feeds the entire left side of my heart. No permanent damage. Lucky me.
Not quite. I have high cholesterol. I cannot take any of the medications that fight that without so much pain I would rather be dead. My choice not to take anything. Therefore I expect to have another stent in the future, possibly have this one plug. Depends on what I can do about the cholesterol.
During the 'event' I continued to use cannabis for pain control, smoking a little, taking pills some too, which don't work as well.
You may want to consider discussing this stuff with a nutritionist. There is not anything that 'cleans' your vessels except time, diet, and exercise. The most difficult part for me is eating the fruit.
I swear the doctors are killing me with all the damn drugs. I found a GP who is mellow and willing to move more slowly and experiment on which drugs I REALLY need to be taking. That has helped a lot.
Exercise is difficult in the Pacific Northwest for 7 months of the year. Wii Fit is pretty good for us older folks, I like it a lot. Helps with some of my pains too by keeping my range of motion, which I also try to get out once a week and play 9 holes - walking.
Take medical advice given in forums with great caution. You learned the signs before your stent. Listen to them (your body) to prevent further damage to your heart.
Getting old sucks the big wienie....and then some

7 pills in Dec is now 1/2 a pill for BP and vitamin e daily and it's all because of diet,,, the doctors think it's the pills because to keep the doctors I lie and tell them I take the pills... My last lab work shows all normal levels from all elavated levels Cholesterol,Blood sugar, and BP in Dec and the doctors did not even try to reduce amounts of the meds I'm taking,,, they are pushers first!!!
It's not really rocket science that what we eat is who we are...
point is 6 months later I am tooting my horn,,, I hope you will as well!!!
