All 15 of the freebies sprouted nice and fast they are 10 days old now just transplanted them to the ebb & flow system using cal-mag plus,fox-farm nuts quarter strength. I am using a grow lab 120. I have 2 600 watt air cooled hoods. Also using a 4x12 inch phresh air carbon filter but I am going to pick up a 6x24 inch filter . I was a little busy over the Holiday as most were. so I procrastinated transplanting. They look a Rating: 5

Hey Rubberbubbler,
I know this grow log is from a while ago, but I'm hoping that you get this question because I can't find help about this issue.
I am currently using flood tables with individual pots filled with hydroton and placing the pots on top of more hydroton. I am sick of using all of this hydroton!! I plan to switch to a system similar to yours. I ordered some Botanicare grow tray lids for my trays and I'm going to cut some holes for 5" net pots. This will drastically reduce my need for hydroton
My question is.. With the roots suspended/exposed like that, how often do you have to feed them? (how often do you flood your table, and for how long?) Are you using any sprayers in there or just a simple flood and drain?
Until I saw your grow log I planned to have the tray constantly flooded with a bunch of air stones in there to give the roots oxygen, like a SWC (shallow water culture). I thought the roots would dry out too fast without a medium in the tray, but it looks like you do periodic floods. This is great news! If you still check this log will you please share your ways with me??
Thanks!!

I like the to use the 3x3 tables so I can use the netwell. Thats the wite plastic with the hols for the baskets. Look through my grow log and see the pic showing the roots. Its not alot of hydroton this also made the plants not tip over one the root stated to intertwined with each other. I flood my tables for times a day you need to to watch the roots to really Know how many times you should flood your tables to make sure the roots do not start to dry out. simple flood and drain is all I used but if you are makeing you own system you need to make sure the flood and drain fitting are at the proper hight so no need for spryers. Sorry it took me so long to respond Some things changed in my life very quikly and I had to pack it away but Know im back on the forums. I hope you have already figiuerd this out though good luck.
