two 600's or one 1000w light??
Hi, I am currently using one 600 watt hps light. I am thinking about getting another 600 watt light in my grow room. Do you think I should have two 600's or one 1000 watt light? what lights will get the hottest? and what would work best for 8 plants? Also what would be cheaper on the electric bill ?

two 600's or one 1000w light??
Two 600s would be more ideal as you can use one MH and one HPS, and rotate them. Obviously 1200 watts is more expensive to run than the 1000w. Plus you already have a 600w so it makes even more sense. Its best to run MH and HPS both at the same time all the way through, or MH for VEG and HPS for flower. Or you can just get to HPS bulbs if you wanted.

two 600's or one 1000w light??
I've been planning a grow room. I originally planned for a single 1000w. However after reading, and reading. I determined that two lights would be better for the rectangular room. More reading brought me to the color spectrum and all the information about WHY LEDs weren't that great. Leaving me thinking about two 600w.
So, I was about to ask the same question(until two days ago).
I came to the conclusion that two 600w, with the alternating MH and HPS bulbs(switching which was in which hood) would be fabulous (Other then the actual switching itself). Even better is to add a hood spinner that rotates the two hoods all the time! Issue with these is their size(space they take above the hoods).
MANY sites and grow pros seem to agree that both for all stages is best(Most blue AND red as possible at ALL stages).
So, I plan to use two 600w OVER the single 1000w. Sence you already have a 600w. I'd say you should go with that too. The extra 200w will be barely noticed on the power bill(over a single 1000w) AND the benefits are many. Including coverage, spectrum, Multiple angles light penetrates into the canopy and more! (like yeild)
Of course using a 1000w AND a 600w is even better(other then maybe heat and power issues).
So, The question comes to that! Because could you honestly say you wouldn't use the 600w if you bought the 1000w?
