Grandma gave 3-year-old grandson pot cookie
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
DENVER -- A Denver grandmother who recently took her own life was under investigation for giving her 3-year-old grandson a marijuana cookie.
Family members say 44-year-old Erin Marcove gave the toddler at least one peanut butter cookie made with cannabis butter on Dec. 4. The next day, she had trouble rousing the boy and called an ambulance.
A week later, relatives told KMGH-TV the grandmother took her own life. Marcove was an advocate for medical marijuana and had used the drug for chronic back pain most of her life.
Police seized a jar of cannabis butter at her home, and a police report showed the little boy had the drug in his system when he was taken to the hospital. The toddler has fully recovered.jamessr Reviewed by jamessr on . Sad story for MMj patient but, is Proof cannabis is not dangerous
Sorry J.,
I disagree strongly that this proves that MM is not dangerous. It proves that grandma overdosed the kid and apparently, mind you apparently, committed suicide in a guilt trip over the matter.
You should never have posted this. It is fuel for the enemy. It proves people do stupid things. It proves that lower body weight will need less medicine to have effect.
Once you get oral intake in and get the digestion going, there is no control.
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
But, I firmly believe in the proper setting it is not dangerous and in an overdose situation there MAY be less sequlae. Even that is not proven scientifically.
Having worked in the medical profession most of my life, I have never heard of an overdose of MM causing more than a sleep it off. There is no way to counteract it pharmcologically.
So, you see, I agree in context, but the context you put here does not corroborate your belief.
ANYTHING in excess can be dangerous.....anything.Natural Spider Mite Control

Thank you Lord for this green thumb, I so love to grow your gift of cannabis.

btw the LD50 for THC works out to over a QP of PURE THC... try to put that in a cookie if you want.. and that is for a 180 lb person so make it a quarter of that and you still have OVER an OUNCE!!

Yeah. Edibles have a different effect on you than smoking. I'm groggy in the mornings from brownies. Its a shame grandma gave the kid one and its a shame she killed her self over it. She did no harm to the kid, she just panicked.

Sad story for MMj patient but, is Proof cannabis is not dangerous
My point here with this post was had it been any other "drug" the child most likely would not have lived. He was only 3 yrs old. He made a full recovery with out any side effects, except sleeping in. Find any drug availble to the public at large that compares? There is none.
As for the grandmother doing what she did in response to the histeria created, very sad indeed. This is what we all collectively need to stop. The histeria over a drug that didn't kill a 3 yr old when he ingested it. Yet it killed the grandmother indirectly by fear.
I guess it all depends on how one looks at it. The positive side of the coin or the negitive side.

you cant have one side with out the other.. basic geometry is there is no plane with one side....
and i agree Sr. the grammy was way too afraid and she was way too quick to act. one would think that a stoner would take longer to kill 'em selves, due to lack of motivation..
i hope that the family can get over this tragedy and the kid wont be harmed by his grams hasty action.. i think that he has more potential to be harmed psychologically later in life by her actions AFTER he was dosed then BY the dosing..
just my opinion

only thing this proved, is that grandma is a stupid bitch, that, had she lived, should have gone to prison for a long time ... nobody should have to be told, that you DON'T give children drugs
