"i'd rather be a "nutt" than a "johnson"" ~ call for truth amnesty for politicians
after watching this video, i think it's time for a truth amnesty for politicians. Centre for Crime and Justice Studies, King's College London: An Audience with Professor Nutt
think such a thing could be organized?
get a few to make some high publicity coming out, show them more of the public will be behind them, if they do it in favor of honest evidence based policy, and once the dam bursts....
.... at the very least it might expose those who are blatantly in favor of deceiving the public about drug harms.
a drugs policy truth amnesty for politicians
is that clear?
lets start to organize now!
ps, if you like this idea, DO spread it around, encourage it to flourish into actually being applied effectively.Siljrath Reviewed by Siljrath on . It's a good idea, the REAL truth is almost always a good thing!
That being said, the real truth is that the black market has such a hold on our plant that they won't sit idly by and let their profits go to shit with legalization. I saw a pot-tv vid by Marijuana Man the other day (old one, can't remember which) that made some good points about this. It costs so little to produce, yet it's sold for 10x that or more on the streets, and even the government is getting on the capitalist bandwagon. The compassion clubs and dispensaries are selling it at street prices, thereby making a good profit & not being so "compassionate", but they wouldn't still be around if they could sell for $2.50 a gram or something actually reasonable with guaranteed potency & results...Comprimise isn't all that good but when it's all you got...
I know it's not exactly on the topic you presented lol, but that's my beef right now. Guess it's the same as regular prescription drugs though & the current healthcare debates.

indeed.
gw pharmaceuticals are getting their sneeky "just-you-guys" legalization, which sort of makes that situation even worse, where they charge even higher, like add another zero or two yet ontop of the already inflated prices, and then, dependent on your nations healthcare model, looks like we'll all be paying for that through our taxes... so thats why i'm all in favour of a little more truth on the matter.
at least if we get an honest open legalization on the go, there's no monopoly in it thats stealing great expense from everyone.
its an untenable situation to allow the continued mass extortion & exploitation simply because it looks too deeply entrenched.
