I'd also like to know what strains are going good around there. I don't live there, but have a 2 week timeshare in Maui so I'm there once a year or so...

Maui is a land of microclimates. Depending on where you are standing at the moment, you could get as little as 5 inches of rain or as many as 250 inches of rain a year. Just about any strain you can find will grow well somewhere here. Many will take a generation or two to reach full potential. I have seen Diesel and White Widow last year and Galactica recenty. All were clones and were soon incorperated into our local strains.

South Big Island has by far the cheapest land. The reason it is cheap is because a live volcano sits right above it. Good Luck getting your house insured in that area. It also has the best MJ policy in the state. Cards are easy to get.
The north part of the island is safer geoligicaly but more expensive.
You have lived here. Think of Maui times 10. That is the sheer size of Hawaii.Wonderful Things Happen When You Plant The Seeds Of Distrust In A Garden Of Assholes

Are the cards issued in the big Island or through Oahu?

If I remember correctly BI has issued like 7000+ licences. I went there to get mine. Maui has more than 1000. Oahu has like 700 and Kauai has 200 or so. Also on the Big Island there are doctors that hand them out like candy.
You can get your licence through any willing doctor on any island. On your licence you can declare yourself both a patient and a caregiver. So licences that are issued on the Big Island can be used wherever you tell the state where your plants are.Wonderful Things Happen When You Plant The Seeds Of Distrust In A Garden Of Assholes
