    1st grow advice is appreciated...

Ok sounds good mainegrown but I had thought about this before as I've seen how more lighting will only benefit my babies.
But my only problem is that my fixture says the the max is 60w for each socket, while I am already using 100w. The splitter says 250w and it's ok for the bulbs but I'm still not sure about the fixture.

Today I purchased a fixture that has 3 sockets not 4 reason for that was because of the way I had the 4 socket fixture. Now I can have two fixtures side by side 6 bulbs in total.
I also purchased pest strips, aswell as sand for the Gnat problem. I heard black strap molasses kills bacteria that the gnats eat off of. But didn't find it.

The fixture is 60w for each socket usually, so you could fit 2 of those 26w bulbs in each just fine. Sounds like you're off to a good start, do you have any fans going in there? I'd highly recommend at least one little one blowing across the plants

WOW, if you only knew how dumb I feel right now.
I purchased 2 new fixtures instead if the 4 socket fixture that sat crooked, I decided to go with 2, 3 socket fixtures that I will drill onto a ply wood and put them side-by-side. For a total of 6 sockets. Now that I know I can put splitters I am thinking if I should put them on now for a total of 12 bulbs, or just wait till flowering to do that.

Now about the gnat problem I bought sand and pest strips today and will put everything on tonight, but I've heard about putting molasses to kill bacteria and later kill the gnats.
Will that work? How much do I put and is it safer than putting sand and risking the fact the roots would get less oxygen?

I don't have a fan in there right now because I've been planning on making a setup to decrease oder when that begins to become a problem. I am planning on buying a computer style fan and placing it above the lights as an exhaust fan and connect it to a laundry style exhaust filled with this fish tank material that will so-called kill oder.

Sorry for typing so much and again thank you so much for all your help guys, I really appreciate it.

first off i would get away from the bathroom fixtures because they DO only have a rating of 60w.. but the ones for construction sites that just bold/screw onto the board are rated for ..just search "Leviton Surface Mount Porcelain Light Socket Medium Base Lamp Holder 9880" and it will give you an idea of what would do better. and that socket is like $3 and rated for 660w... how many CFL's is that, anyone? just find non-fixture light sockets..like the ones an electrician would install in your home for you..
they are simple to install and almost fool proof..
and i dont think that you will have any luck with killing bacteria with molasses.. i think that it is used to PROMOTE bacteria growth in soil.. if you dont have an aversion to pesticides then i would recommend one of those designed for your pest..
have a nice nite and no problem helping..we all need each other cause we just be people

Well Now that I have different fixtures I believe my girls have gotten a little better because of the added light. Although only 2 out of 8 are out of the ground and seem to be doing well i don't know where I went wrong.

2 of the seedlings haven't even reached the surface while the other 4 look weak and I don't think they will make it. Is there a certain way you are suppose to plant the seed? Reason I ask is because I think these seedlings are not sprouting because they can't find the surface and died. While the 2 that did sprout succesfully are standing strong and have no signs off problems.

I am almost done with the bin that is suppose to go on top and hide the setup, I will post pics of my progress as soon as I get the chance.

There are less gnats because of the pest strips (thanks redtails for the idea) and I am planning on taking out the babies that didn't succeed and replanting some new seedlings as I do that I will place sand around the 2 that are growing and hope that the new seedling will catch up.

idk if you have more soil but i would not recommend using the same soil because of contaminates in the soil.. like mold that develops when the moisture in the soil is the perfect environment.. if you must use the same soil bake it in the oven @ 350 for 30+ minutes to kill any unwanteds in there
and how deep did you plant the seeds? plant around 1/3 " deep AFTER they have shown roots when you put in a zip lock bag with a couple paper towels folded around them and dampened... poke a hole in the soil with a pencil and PLACE the seed in there. then put some soil over the seed and let her go. spray the soil surface once a day with a few sprays from a cleaned out windex bottle.
thats basically what i do and it seems to work well and is kind simple
sorry if not to clear im kinda drunk/tired

Hehe, just a warning on baking soil, it stinks your whole place up!

I plant same way, only I usually take the baggie I germinated in and place it over the pot after it's planted as a humidity dome so I don't have to water it at all. Then you just take it off when the plant pops out & you're good.

So to start this off here are the materials that i am using.

4-26w bulbs of 1600 lumens of light output, so a total of 6400 lumens
    18 gallon bin
emergency blanket all on the inside of the bin
    bathroom fixture with 4 sockets
    8 biodegradable pots
    Miracle Grow organic choice
    thermometer with a humidity meter
8 bagseed babies that came from a so-called batch of haze

Well i started to germinate 11 on DEC 20th came out with 8 cracked open ready to get dropped in the pot.

On DEC 23th 6am i planted them all in seperate pots and placed them in my bin already prepared for them.

On DEC 25th i saw that one of my babies have already sprouted and is already about 3cm tall.

    Temp: 71-82 Degrees-F, 21.67-27.78-C
Humudity: 33% sometimes it says Low usually when i havent watered them

When i close my closet door it is around 82 when it is open it is around 75,76 but when i spark a blunt and open my bedroom window to blaze it drops to 72

Now i have noticed there might be a problem with my grow setup.

My light fixxture is about 4-6 inches away from my pots and is not straight accross because of it being to big to fit inside of the bin.

Also on the second day i saw a gnat flying around i tried to kill it but the m+therf+cker was way to fast so after a few more failed attemps i just decided to leave it alone and open my closet door to hopefully see it fly out and i can close the door and kill it knowing its out of my grow area.

Any advice will be gladly appreciated and i will update my progress as it grows...
