French pioneers discovered most of inland North America, and the Ohio valley was once a part of New France (Canada's name before the British took over). The French pioneers also tended to intermarry a lot with the Native-Americans, resulting in entire towns and territories comprised only of métis, half French half Indian people. After the Brits took over in 1753, they started settling the area.

Does anyone know about history of Ohio from about 1760 to 1840.I have found out that my great great great great grandpa is from there and i know his name but here i have 2 people in history one called William Wells born in circa 1770 and was captured by Indians and another called William Henry Harrison who represented the territory in the US house of representatives in about 1799.I know its probably a shot in the dark but does anyone know anything about those 2 people of history.
