Civil Rights abuses in Centennial - DA Threatens witnesses with prosecution

full story Laws clash in medical pot lawsuit - The Denver Post

"No sooner did the first witness take the stand for the plaintiffs then Cross stopped the interrogation and asked the witness, Shannon Mosher, a licensed user, if he was aware he was forgoing his Fifth Amendment rights and incriminating himself by admitting he used marijuana.
Cross said he had just received an e-mail from Arapahoe County District Attorney Carol Chambers saying that she plans to review all trial testimony and consider prosecuting admitted users. She also advised the judge that she thinks the use of marijuana for any reason by people on probation violates the terms of their probation and that she may prosecute them.

That's kind of funny, since she's basically threatening to prosecute for a petty offense in Colorado, which carries a maximum penalty of a $100 fine, even prior to the advent of amendment 20. Not much of a threat, and a sure sign of desperation. The idea is galling though.

I think the main deal is the bitch is trying to bust them on probation violation as well as (because of) possession of a controlled substance. For some people violation of their terms of probation could mean mandatory jail time or fine or wtf. Has anyone looked into this woman? How can we let her know that her and her husband could be voted out of office for not doing what the people she serves want. I looked at her office website. It does have a contact # but no e-mail address. We need to let her know we are watching her and her tactics.

The best way to get their attention is to file an ethic bar complaint. That really is who controls their practices.

Excuse my ignorance but is the DA of Arapahoe County voted in or appointed?

    I got this bitches info!

I'm sure she would love to hear from ALL of us.

    this is Carol Chambers

"I was raised in a small town in Ohio with three brothers and one sister. My father was the pastor of a small Presbyterian Church, my grandfather worked for the Board of National Missions for the Presbyterian Church, and my three uncles were Presbyterian ministers as well, so needless to say, my childhood centered around the church which was our extended family."

When I finished high school, I went to Texas Christian University to get a nursing degree, then moved to Denver where I put myself through the University of Denver College of Law by working in the Emergency Department of, what was then, Denver General Hospital and as a temp/floater at various area hospitals."

"I attended law school at the University of Denver where I received the American Jurisprudence Award in Ethics. In my last year, I interned in the Denver District Attorneyâ??s Office where I met my husband, Nathan, who was a Denver prosecutor for eight years."

"After law school, I clerked for Judge Donald P. Smith at the Colorado Court of Appeals, and then worked at the law firm of Long & Jaudon, P.C. where I practiced medical malpractice defense. I thoroughly enjoyed civil practice, but I wanted to be a prosecutor and try cases so I began working at the District Attorneyâ??s Office for the 18th Judicial District in April of 1990."

now you know what we're dealing with.

If you read her last paragraph above she says she used to defend doctors against patients that were wronged. Now she's trying to hurt patients again.
Is this the "christian" thing to do?

I'm sorry if I keep going on and on about this but this woman has really got me shook up.

Maybe I should smoke up a bowl too.

So do you honestly believe that every medical malpractice case filed is the result of a doctor's wrongdoing or did you just post this for effect?
