    9 ounces returned to MMJ patient

    This is how it is done !:thumbsup: CONGRATS TO Aaron Pelley.imp: He is the man of our MMJ community.:smokin:

    2. Washington State Patrol ordered to return 9 ounces of pot
    ========================================
    ========================================

    Last Tuesday, a King County judge ordered the Washington State Patrol to
    return 9 ounces of medical marijuana to authorized patient Scott Verner.
    During a routine traffic stop, a state trooper smelled and seized Mr.
    Verner's cannabis, even though he showed his medical marijuana paperwork
    to the officer as required by law. The trooper told Mr. Verner that he was
    allowed to use medical marijuana, but not to transport it via automobile.

    Congratulations to CDC member Aaron Pelley, the attorney on the Verner
    case. Aaron made the news last September after winning the return of over
    eleven pounds of medical marijuana from the Kent Police.

    Undereducated and misinformed law enforcement routinely offer erroneous
    legal analyses when arresting medical marijuana patients. Hearing cops say
    "I know the law" then proceed to egregiously misquote the law serves only
    to increase the sense of fear and helplessness felt by Washington State
    medical marijuana patients. The night (or more) in jail only adds to that.

    Verner v. King County is the first case in the CDC's Medical Marijuana
    Reclamation Project to be argued in court. Our goal with this project is
    to correctly inform errant law enforcement agencies about Washington's
    voter-approved medical marijuana law. If you know of a medical marijuana
    patient whose medical marijuana was falsely seized, have them contact us
    at [email protected] or 888-208-5332.

    Please consider supporting this project with a small donation, or by
    becoming a CDC member, both of which can be done at: Cannabis Defense Coalition

    Congratulations, Scott and Aaron. And good job, Aaron.

    Shouldn't the cops be required to go to some sort of job training to make it so they KNOW the law, not just THINK they know it. Seems like the cop should be reprimanded seeing as he caused trouble for the MMJ patient and the county due to his negligence/arrogance. Good news though.

    It just goes to show that management with the LEOs lacks the training they are supposed to have to instruct subordinates on the letter of the law along with the spirit of the law. Don't they often harp, ignorance of the law is no excuse?

    Unfortunately it is the risk management team lawyers that instructs LEO of the laws, and what training these people receive at the WSP training center. We got it all on these guy's. Policy, Custom, Usage, Contracts, Financial info...Why they do what they do to us.

    I grew up with that lingo stuck in my head by LEO, Prosecutors and the judges. It is now us posing those same quotes to them. " IGNORANCE OF THE LAW IS NO EXCUSE" AND "IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE LAWS CHANGE THEM". :thumbsup::thumbsup:

    Does this now mean, they are the criminals grouping up in gangs?

    One has to wonder.:wtf:
