Deep Water Culture Neewbie
Hello fellow growers,
Ok I have been growing For about 5 years, and in the last year have gotten serious about it. I have been sucessfull with the use of a soiless mix in 5 gal buckets useing flora Netrients, n koolbloom. I recently started doing some research into Deep Water Culture. I am a hands on learner so I have Blacked out a 5gal. bucket and put a net pot in the lid and am currentlygrowing a small NL clone in it. I have noticed rapid growth in the last week and although am impressed with the new growth .. it's very yellow and take a couple days to green up... Is this normal? I'm New so any helpfull advice from somone with experience in DWC would be apreciated. I use the same flora neutrients grow/micro/bloom... and intend to flower useing Koolbloom.OutaBud Reviewed by OutaBud on . what do you keep you pH at?
...when i first started DWC the biggest mistake i made was not pre soaking and washing off my hydrotron. You will get huge pH fluctuations without clean and pre pHed medium.
....I also recommend using a supplement like Aqua sheild, hydrogaurd, or hydrozyme. These supplements keep your resivour clean of any shit that might get into your resivour...
Also res. water temp is important. if Your water is to warm the roots wont like it and it will stunt and fuck up your grow.
Bubbles are VRY important to DWC... the more bubbles the better (You can not have to many bubbles) Micro-Pore diffusers make the most//tiny bubbles out of anything iv seen (those round or straight blue pores air stones SUCK and will clog up after a few runs)
...Another thing you have to remeber is with soiless growing there isnt that pH buffering capacity that soil has, so many you see small changes starting uslly its going to get worse before it gets better unless you do something about it. NO MORE WELL ILL JUST WAIT TELL TOMORROW AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. if you see yellowing in the leaves after a res change, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! ether redo your res change or take out half of the water and add straight water cause your nute solution is to strong...dont wait tell your plants look like shit!

Thanks for the advice ... I will be setting up a new dwc room after the holidays. The one I have now for a tester seems to be doing alot better since I flushed the bucket, redid the neuts, and lowered the level ote water to 1 inch below the netpot. I was aperently drownding the plant... I will post pics and keep this thread going if ayone wants to watch my misadventures in dwc.

Well thats pretty bad. You post once and you already getting nagged at by the list police. You bound to be some kinda trouble maker
Throw all that crap out and get you some Hempy Buckets filled with Turface. Yes Pearlite is too expensive. 1 Gallon sized bucket works well. Hope this helps.
