NJ State Troppers and their favorite tactic, racial profiling

Well for those of you that don't know the history of the State of New Jersey's state police, they made anti-racial profiling laws because of these guys. Years back there was a lot of controversy about this, in the academy they were tought if you see a minority in a nice vehicle, pull them over for any reason you can, and search them and the vehicle using any reason you can, as well as other things like, if a black man drives past doing 70, and a white man drives past doing 80, pull over the black..


Anyways, back on topic..

Happens everyday around here, on Interstate 40. Mexicans or whoever, going East or West get their belongings and shit scattered all over the roadside. They even look under the hood....courtesy of the 23rd Judicial Drug Task Force....(a bunch of local loser cops on Federal Grant Overtime pay)...your tax dollars at work.

wish I could find the olddd story, but years back a off duty State trooper fell victim to racial profiling that resulted in a false arrest or something, was while back like I said so not remembering the particulars.

hehe, NJ State Police actually have a "Marijuana Eradication Squad" separate from other narcotics units...

consider this:

when I was about 20 years old, I owned a 1970 Cadillac Brougham, totally immaculate condition, 18,000 miles on the clock :thumbsup: ... the first morning I drove to work in it, I was pulled over by the Peoria Police :wtf: ... after checking my license and registration, they said " you're OK, we're just checking to see if the car was stolen, we don't see many young white guys driving Caddies " imp: ... now, should I have been pissed ?, I don't think so ... what are cops supposed to do ? wait for somebody to hold up a sign, saying 'Im a criminal' ?? ... seriously, there's always more than one side to stuff like this ... :jointsmile:

heh well not hold up a sign, maybe wait for probable cause

by the way the thing about nice cars I was mentioning was they were to assume if a minority had a nice vehicle they were a drug dealer

actually, I'm not able to claim that much common sense, back then ... I was a typical smart-ass :wtf: ... ya grow out of it, after 30-40 years of work, and taxes, (still trying to grow out of it )

Sounds like probable cause to me. Although they were kind overbored, i think once realized their was 8 people and not 3 they could of stopped.

yeah yuh know.. the apparent 911 call they have to respond to, but after realizing it was a school van full of students and teachers.. lol just don't know...
