The original intention of the housing plan was distorted and oversight and regulations were removed during the GOP reign of congress. Those who couldn't afford to buy a house shouldn't have been eligible. Who, pray tell, cooked up bogus income info and statements to sell those homes to those who they knew truly couldn't afford them???? Just part of the main scam so they could turn it around and blame someone else. Typical GOP playbook.
