can you clone autos?
thanks for the input everyone:thumbsup:
Reaper i hear what your saying, and you have some good points, if i lived in the USA with your over strict laws on cannabis i wouldn't bother either, but it's alot more relaxed here in the UK,you would only get a slap on the wrists if caught with a hobby grow, and thats what all my grows are.i only grow in the summer outdoorsas for the potency i found my lowryder2 to be a nice smoke and quite strong thats probally the santa maria genetics, but like you said the yield is shit
Redtails let us know how you get on with the cuttings, very curious about the outcome

Hi Weedmaster,
Just saw your post, abt the good santa maria genetics, and started laughing. I am going to assume that it stayed short, autoflowered and turned out great for you. Mine I believe was just not stablized yet or something.
We planted 5 seeds of LR x SantaMaria, 4 germinated 1 did not. Not a problem.
They grew and grew and got to be 4'+. Not a problem, just inconvienent.
Just never went to flower. Not a problem, stick them in the bloom room, room is set up for 2' tall plants so adjust some things, another inconvienence.
After a few weeks of 12/12 they flowered, but then 2 turned hermie. PROBLEM, I got two hermies in a room with a lot of production plants. Shit can those 2.
Continue to grow the other 2, but have to check them every day. That's a problem with time wasted.
They finish get chopped, dried cured. Problem, it was crap both in taste and potnecy...or what potency?
Meanwhile planted 3 auto AK47's along with the others and they grew very nicely, about 2' tall. All 3 varied slightly in height and wgt but came in at slightly less then an ounce each. Tasted good and was very potent and needed very little care. Who could ask for more?
Interesting stuff, the variation in seeds or maybe generations. I really would like to put a bunch of these (LRxAK47s) outdoors early to finish in the middle of the summer.:smokin: Think it would be worthwhile. Take care.-oldmac

can you clone autos?
Haha, yeah, after I re-read it earlier you didn't. I dunno :stoned:
I'll definitely let you know Weedmaster how the clones do, I mean why experiment with something like this that nobody knows for sure the outcome and then not share?Take everything said with a grain of salt, nobody knows everything and everybody knows nothing.

Well, been a few days & it looks like the clones might not make it. They are starting to droop a bit and I had to re-cut one. I'm convinced it's my fault & not the auto genetics but now all my autoflowers are starting to bloom so I can't test it again without having to order more seeds. It's been about 8 years since I tried to clone anything and I only had about a 75% success back then on like 12 cuttings. I'll definitely post updates on whether or not they take.

Well, outcome still not entirely sure, leaves were yellowing quite a bit but it seems as though they are forming roots(not coming out of the rapid rooter plugs yet but stems are firmly anchored in). I'm sure they'll take, but what I really want to know now is how long they veg before they start to flower! If they go through a full 20 day veg like the parents that would be awesome news. I'm hesitant to post up pics right now because they look so crappy but as soon as I see new growth I definitely will! Here's the momma though at one week flowering to tide you over:
