can you clone autos?
I tried once already and will be trying again on the girl in this picture. First try didn't pan out(forgot the humidity dome) and now she's 3 weeks into flower so can't do her but the other still has maybe a week of veg left before she flips herself so I'm hoping the branches get big enough to snip one! I've heard as well that you can't but I still want to try it, also will try to re-veg the one flowering now because 2 months from seed to harvest isn't really long enough to get anything more than about an oz for my setup.

autoflower ruderalis is not clone-able ... just as well, the garbage isn't worth growing anyway :wtf: ... Advice: don't risk your time, money, and freedom, over growing anything less than the best ... :smokin:

Spoken like a true seed breeder IR
Autoflowers are not cloneable, they flower independent of the photoperiod, so you have no way to control if the plant is going to veg or flower. Without the ability to control the plant thru light/dark times it is impossible for you to take a cutting that is allready in flower and get it to change to rooting/veg.
If you take a cutting early enough, it will "finish" exactly when the mother plant finishes.
Unlike the image reaper, I feel that autoflowers have a place with the hobby grower. They just don't have a place if you are serious about growing.

Wow, some serious negativity from you guys! Oh well, you've got the bad karma not me. I happen to like my AF's, sure they aren't heavy producers but I got them more for studying and curiosity. And we will see if they can be cloned and when they will finish, it's only been about 6.5hrs since I took 2 x 1.5" cuttings but they're doing great so far so be prepared to have your world flipped upside-down, naysayers!
Oh, & IR, nobody has pure ruderalis, which I'm told by more than just you, is garbage. Mine is 30%, so it's still 70% "not garbage"...Take everything said with a grain of salt, nobody knows everything and everybody knows nothing.

just a tiny bit of the subject, but this is an OUTSTANDING article, by DJ Shorts, the famous, and well-respected world-class breeder:
Breeding tips | Cannabis Culture Magazine
I bet you'll like reading that, I learned a lot from it

Hey there Redtails,
I really didn't think I was being that negative about autoflowers. I have in fact grown some for shits and giggles. And will probably continue to stick a couple in my mom/veg room because I can literally grow a couple of them for free, since the lights are on anyway for my moms and vegging plants. And like I said, I see how they might be the best thing for a hobby grower. And while the lowryder X santa maria was crap, the lowryder X Ak47 was quite tastee and had good head to it.
I would add to the DJ Shorts' articule with the fact that russian ruderalis was in this country by the 1940s, we grew it on my aunt and uncles tobbaco farm during the 2nd world war. We grew two types of hemp back then, tall skinny fiber hemp that I think came from India and "Russian hemp" that was very short, like a bean bush, used more for it's seeds then fiber. The tall crap must have been hybredized by the ruderalis since that stuff would go to flower on it's own, independent of light.
