Procyon 100/CFL Grow: Blue City Diesel

looking good.. i am thinking about trying a SCRoG soon-ish..
looks like a good way to use cfl and i am really curious about how it will work with a LED setup..
if that works well for you i may just end up giving it a try..
hope all works out well and you get mad weight..

    Thx Maine,
ScroG worked good last time, but did get a little out of control because I let them veg for too long.

    Changed the reservoir today:
    Removed existing H20
Flushed each net pot with approximately 1pint of plain tap H20 to remove salt build-up
Flushed system (pump, sprayers, pvc) with plain tap for 10min
    Removed the "flush waste"
    Added 10 gal of pH'd tap H2O
Added 1/2 strength (5tsp each) Vigor, Bloom, CalMag + 15 drops of SuperThrive

Replaced cfls with 4 26w 2700k cfls. Switched light timer to 12/12. Will implement C02 at the first sign of a pistil. vaporized

you can add a drop of non-antibacterial soap to the mix (1 pint that you used) to help removed the salt buildup.

can't wait to see that screen fill in...er out!

Thx shake. I'll try that next time.

Something I've never seen before...the day after switching to bloom nutes and 12/12 a few of the plants showed this weird bulge at the nodes. (see pics) It looks like it could be new growth, but I'm not sure They all seem very happy though. Any thoughts?

Some heavy producing varieties have a supportive girdle which helps hold up the heavy fruiting limbs.

    Totally normal there, Joe!

awesome! thanks MP. That explains why some had it and some not. I'm guessing the Diesel heavy phenos are the ones with it as they can get huge and the BB not so much. Some more pics from today...
I also forgot to mention that my pump timer is on fully during the photo period and set to 15min on/15min off during dark. I originally set it to 15/15 in the summer to try and keep my res. temps down. Now my purpose is to let them dry out a bit between sprays so give em a bit of a nute break. I hope this makes sense.

Ripped out a male yesterday which brings us down to five. None of the others have any signs of being dudes yet so fingers crossed.
Turned on the CO2 today. I have it on for the first hour of the photo period then 15min on/15min off until dark. Not sure what my ppms are. This setting brings it to roughly 1000 If i remember correctly. I need to get more CO2 test thingys to see where it's at.

I raised the Procyon a couple inches too. Some of the leaves directly under the LEDs got a bit toasted. It's now 12" above the canopy. peace

your co2 rig is injecting 1000 PPM of gas, or your getting 1000 PPM reading? you should have between 1000-2500 PPM of co2 in the air normally if i'm not mistaken.

you are running it sealed right?

Honestly, I forget. I need to get more refills and re-check. The room is not sealed. There's a 4" pc fan for exhaust on 24/7. To compensate for the exhaust should I ramp up the CO2 or put the fan on a timer and keep it off when C02 is on? Overheating is not an issue during winter.

you really want a sealed run when running co2. also, you want higher temps. the higher temps increase the plants metabolic rate which allows it to use the extra co2 that you are pumping in.

at least put the fan on a timer. there's no need to waste all that co2. not to mention it's a health hazard!

    good growing!
